The sound driver was not updated. It was a windows automatic update (KB2533552), which as far as I can gather through google is not related to audio.

In any case, I reverted to a restore point before the windows update, and the sound problem in the game remains. So the windows update was not the problem. There were no other changes on my system that I am aware of.

Have you tried the unified driver that i gave a link for,so far i have had NO problem with 7.1 sound on my zonar but i AM using the fan driver not the asus driver.

I've replaced the Logitech G35 by a Speedlink Medusa NX USB 5.1. The new one allows you to switch between stereo, quadro, 5.1 and 7.1 (!). It works fine with TW2.

But I've had it with CDPR after buying a new headphone and new monitor just to be able to play the game. I'll never trust that company again. One would think that they have changed their act after TW1's EE. Chances are that I'll never buy another product of them again.

So as ive been saying its not the game its the logitech ETC drivers,because 7.1 works fine for me AND you now.

It works fine with TW2. )Implies that its working.Just because one headset out of hundreds of makes doesn't work don't mean its the games fault,when there is graphic faults its the card manufacturer that fixes it not the Game developers.It does work in 7.1 for most people so its not the game,get onto Logitech support to fix it.Or wait for the patch and see if CDPR can find a solution.

I dont HATE logitech im just trying to tell you that the fault is with them and there drivers but your on a mission to twist everybody into a hate champaign you said yourself 5.1 works so use that in the mean time it NOT a BIG thing is it.

okay, not everyone with no sound is using a g35 bro, I could google you to some threads if you want where everyone with 7.1 is having problems?

Ok im wasting my time because by the simple fact that im not having problems that blows your EVERYONE theory out the water,it doest matter my sound works ive tried to give people some tips and help 90% of the people having problems are g35 people i dont care.

Exactly. The Speedlink's 5.1 mode works fine in TW2. The G35 has a better bass, though. If only it worked in TW2. ;)

And as others have said many times before... It's not only the G35. Any device (headphone or card) in true 7.1 mode doesn't work. No matter what brand. The G35 is problematic, because it doesn't allow you to switch to any other mode.

Exactly. Right now the only solution for a G35 user is to disable the G35 and use a sound card/another set of speakers, or uninstall the drivers of your G35 and turn your G35 into a stereo headset. Unacceptable. Hope they patch it SOON.

Xonair sound card owners can drop their channels down to 6 to get sound working again. Not sure if you G35 owners can do the same.
