I've played through the game twice(Iorveth path and Roche path) but I never found anything about the other witchers from Kaer Morhan(sp?). I miss Eskel.
The only things i found of the Kaer Morhan Witchers, were the Kaer Morhan silver sword and the people who pursue Geral in the forest at the start are the witchers from kaer morhan.
I'm pretty sure Vesemir was mentioned once....sometihng about Geralt saying how he'd ask him about stuf like the School of the Viper.
Those witcher at the intro are, without any doubt, Berengar and Lambert.

Not Berenger, its Eskel, you can see his face scar

QFT.

On the topic:
It's not a big surprise, imo. It was a good idea to have them in the first game, to introduce players to what a Witcher is and give them some general background about the profession and its history.
But in the books they don't appear too often either. It's more of a loose community, no strict guild or something, at least lately (ever since there are only so few left. Don't know about the times before). They (used to) meet every once in a while - mostly once a year during winter - and else scatter throughout the Northern Kingdoms in search of work. TW1 has taken place one month before TW2, so a year didn't pass yet and there's no real reason for them to meet. And not having accidental meetings is more believable than having them, given the size of the Kingdoms.

It can't be eskel. The witcher at the right is clearly Berengar. He is wearing the stupid hat and the armor without leaves as berengar did.

Yeah, I wondered what Berengar was doing there, its clearly Lambert because of the hair, and Berengar because of the hat.
I think I have totally forgotten about this intro part. Guess I'll see it on my next playthrough.

PS-Does it show Geralt leaving Kaer Morhan? I vaguely remember something like that.
i killed berengar in the first game because of his stupid hat. >:|
The clip at the start of W2 is the same as the one at the opening of W1. Its not really related to the start of the story of W2.

I think its just there to serve as a reminder of what happened to Geralt i reckon. He was found on the outskirts of Kaer Morhen by fellow Witchers without his memory and running scared.
Ok, I looked at the scene again, and its Berengar, sorry

but it can't be Berenger, because Vesemir said Berenger has left Kaer Morhen before Geralt arrived. Geralt's arrival is that scene

There's the same scene in beginning of The Witcher, albeit with some differences (like Geralt wasn't semi-naked and the scene is signicantly longer). Eskel was definitely there as he was taking to Geralt on the cart. same with Lambert. Berengar wasn't defintely not there.

No idea why CDPR decided to replace Eskel with Berengar in TW2's version of the scene.

Yeah, I had thought it was Berengar, also. I also wondered why they changed the scene. My only thought was that was the dream that Geralt woke up from while inside the tent with Triss. Triss asked him if it was another dream that bothered him.
So, constantly dreaming about the same occurance can have variations in it.
Yea, I liked those characters in TW1 too.

Only briefly are they mentioned and not in the actual game. Maybe TW3 or a DLC?

*sniffles*
I am just wondering if you think that the game is lesser because they are not featured?
Or are you (this is not directed at anyone in particular) interested in finding out what their fate may be at this time.

Since the Witchers went in different directions when chasing Salamanders and TW2 takes place about a month after TW1 it is possible that even if they DID want to reunite with Geralt in Vizima they could not make it in time (given their distance and the fact they are traveling through a country torn by civil war).
This is of course assuming that they all suddenly decided to congratulate Geralt on a solution of the problem in person and were not involved in their own intrigues.

What I would hate to see is a fan service based storyline where certain things in the game world happen because fans demand it (this is not necessary in reference to this thread). It is no different from people in BioWare forums demanding certain romances or certain squad mates being available in Mass Effect because they want to see them and not because they make sense story considering...
