Where can you get a new Silver Sword after the one you craft in Flotsam? I heard of the Robust one, but I don't have the mats for it.

And steel... I have the Special Forces one? Is that the best you can get in awhile?

Just wondering where you can buy steel/silver or craft steel/silver swords (in Ch.2 - Iov side)

I don't have many mats, so where would I get them?
Basically my Silver Sword just completely sucks, and I need a new one.

To make my Sword, I first bought the diagram and the meager two silver ores available. Then , since the vendor stuff restocks daily, I just came to the same vendor every morning to sell monster parts and buy the mats I needed. I do not remember if the better sword diagram was available in act one, since i did it in act 2. Hope this helps. Happy hunting.

edit : oops, just realized we are playing opposite story threads, but I am sure someone knows where the blacksmith or quarter master's assistant is on your side.

Offhand, I don't even recall silver swords being sold. You craft them.

It would help if you mentioned what material, exactly, you are short in. In the case of the robust silver sword, it is probably endrega teeth, but I'm 90% certain, if memory serves me right, that the blacksmith should have better silver sword diagrams. He's the dwarf up north near Philipa's house.

i did the "nekker contract" side mission and as a reward you will recieve a very good silver sword diagram. You can buy the silver ore from the blacksmith in the south part of the town (a dawrf) and let him craft the sword for you.

He's in act 2, hence my earlier post.

Ok, I'll keep checking him (since he updates daily). Although, unfortunately I am low on EVERYTHING, and yes that includes Endrega teeth and the yellow ore(?).

The blacksmith dwarf at the top of Vergen (the one who wants to look at your weapons) has a fairly large stack of silver ore, and you can buy diagrams for Robust silver swords from him. And IIRC, the silent elf fellow in the market also has some silver ore.

I also have the feeling that I saw Endrega teeth on sale somewhere in Vergen... Maybe the sorceress' apprentice in the market? Or the elf just outside the city walls?
I am still unsure of this next item, but just for information's sake, The yellow ore and the yellow runes were the least common in the previous game. I have yet to find any yellow meteorite in my play through, but the blue and the red are common enough if you look in crates. I may be completely wrong, but it is possible that the yellow will take more time to locate???
*Spoilers*

The blacksmith in vergen sells silver ore, and his stocks will replenish over time, so you just need to check back in.

In addition, there is a mine quest in chapter 2 where you can loot a lot of silver.

Silver swords are best crafted in chapter 2. If in Vergen, the blacksmith and the elven weapon vendor will both have useful diagrams. I personally recommend the robust yellow ore silver sword, if youre going to be making one, because of the + adrenaline. I found some others, but they werent as good as that one. Although negotiator is fun with the +freeze.

You will find some better steel swords during adventuring.

In chapter three, powerful silver swords drop fairly frequently, so you can get a free replacement.

Remember, money is freely made in the bar in chapter 2, if you're willing to put in a little time, and you're in a spot.

As others said, just put in the time and you'll get everything. This isn't a race to finish the game. Just enjoy it at your leisure and pace and do all the side quests etc.

Yellow is slightly rarer, but Ore overall is much more common than in the first game, and you can craft the ore as well.

Cyjack: testing.
Did it work?
Cyjack, I saw where you had edited, but it seems to have been eaten away by some kind of forum post muncher of unknown origin :)

anyway I am sure the OP now knows at least something more than when the post was started :)
