I bought and downloaded TW2 from Amazon's digital downloads earlier this week, and I have been playing on it just fine for the past few days without any problems. This evening, after exitting the game for several hours, I relaunched it and found out that it had gotten unbearably laggy (immediately upon loading my saved game) to the point where it is unplayable. I did not DL any other files, programs, or drivers, nor did I change any settings.

I rebooted my PC and that did not help, nor has loading older saved files or launching a new game. After visiting several forums and fiddling with my video settings, nothing has helped improve the lagginess that spontaneously appeared.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated, because I really was enjoying this game.

Edit: The one thing I did read that I want to try to avoid is uninstalling and reinstalling the game since it took 2 days to DL with my crappy internet connection.

Is it the whole game that is laggy or just the cutscenes? So by checking video settings, I assume you have tried disabling Ubersampling, turn off V-Sync, and lowering resolution?

Do you have other games that you can test your computer with? If the other games are showing similar symptom, it might just be your computer.

The main menu is lag free, however upon loading the game it has crippling lag (no clue as to cutscenes as I can't even make it to one).

Other games (World of Warcraft, Torchlight, and League of Legends) test fine and show no signs of any issues.

Ubersampling is Disabled, as is SSAO & Vertical Sync. I tried running it at a lower resolution and in windowed mode, and while that seemed to help *slightly*, it was still unplayable. However the auto detect has had me playing on Medium Spec without any issue (minus the first cutscene).

Hm... maybe try uninstalling your video card drivers and reinstalling it again?

If you are using Nvidia, maybe try a beta driver. Saw somewhere in another thread it solved another guy's problem.

I will give that a whirl after some sleep. I also read someone said that if you run a defrag it somehow solves the lag issues. We shall see.

Well, I tried the Defrag I read on another forum, and I tried the beta driver for my Nvidia card and its still laggy. I guess the last option is to uninstall the game and reinstall, but I really hate to think I will need to do that again and again given that its a digital download. =(
did you check to see if you got this week's windows download? Sometimes, I have to roll back for a day or two when I get updates
Well, turns out uninstalling and reinstalling solved the lag issue! =)
