Apparently there is patch that adds some autosaves.

I'm wondering if anyone is at that version. In particular, I have no autosave before the battle with the Draug. Playing the 10 minutes of lead up to that is just a pain.

Does anyone have this patch?

Go to ...\The Witcher 2\bin and check the "witcher2.exe" (hover the mouse over it or right-click --> properties --> details). If it says "1.0.6041.43456" as version than you're fine. It's the version we all have.

If you're still not sure you can execute the "patcher.exe" in the main game folder. It re-checks for the release-day patch and downloads it if necessary. But I'm pretty sure you already have it installed.

You cannot manually save in the entire "mist" area at all.

It is very frustrating

Ah ok, I thought save was only disabled during fights I didn't knew there was other times where it was also unavailable.
