Xealot42: Thanks. At default you could use up half a potion watching the pre-fight cutscenes!

Gvaz: Yeah things like being in the menu and cutscenes should pause the clock.
Menu for sure, but not cut scenes I wouldn't think because they happen in real time :)
Well extending the time is the far more logical decision ;)

I added a big fat bold note to the first post, so that SlackerSupremes issue won't be repeated.

It may be realistic but I find it's a waste. Especially when you can skip the cutscene and have more potion time.

No one's forcing you to use the mod if you enjoy 5 minute potions almost worn off after some cut scenes. Go be a purist somewhere else please. ;p

Actually, purists would want an 8 hour duration mod. ;D

Ah your right! I didn't even think of that.
So, those using it found any issues? Happy with the values?
I'll be going back and editing the values, like I did right off the bat with the Cat potion. Why you excluded it I'm not sure, as it seems the worst offender. Down in the dwarven tunnels I had to stop and meditate a LOT to keep the nightvision up. After a while I just gave up and started lighting all the cauldrons.

I think an hour is too long, although it might be right for someone who doesn't want to spend points in the Alchemy tree. For myself, I'm going to reduce the durations to 15 minutes (900), or maybe 30mins. It's pretty easy to alter the values to something one's comfortable with.

I didn't increase it because theres situations where the cat potion makes it impossible to see loot as the night is not dark enough (heh) and particularly in chapter 2 its so "not dark" that it looks like nuclear glow instead of "seeing in the dark".

And honestly, that is the only section in the entire game where you actually need to think about light and where your allies are. I didn't want to ruin it ;P (Also the only level where the light-the-torch action makes any sense)

Though you can naturally change the values to fit your taste. Like with all mods, in the end its the modders subjective feeling that defines what they do, and to me the cat potion is more an annoyance than helpful (because its so over-the-top bright)
I agree. The new cat potion is useless to me. I want the cat potion from Witcher 1 back, and they can make this cat potion into something else.
Request: Can you make optional 30min-versions for both the potions and the oils? Thank you. :)
You can open in it like Notepad ++, which is a nice program for editing all sorts of text based files, and then find and replace all 3600 entries with 1800.
indeed- you can just open it with notepad++ (not with the standard windows notepad!) or crimson editor and go to "replace"

Just replace all duration entries that are 3600 with the values of your choice its in seconds, so 1800 = 30m | 900 = 15m and save. It can be easily done with "replace all" this is how i did it anyway.

Its by far easier than for me to make a dozen versions ;p

Or you can just download this ;p

Potion Duration = 30m for all (except cat potion) including all oils 30m

Quick question, how do the talents that increase potion length react to the mod? Does it go off the time in the file, or will it just make potions 14 minutes?

I believe it works off of the modified timings. I just drank a swallow and the timer was over 80 minutes.
