I enjoyed every level in the game, except for this one.

Did anyone actually enjoy this part?
Yes, I did.
Agreed, it was an intriguing location and concept... one certainly befitting the setting.
I have certainly enjoyed it... a nice change of pace and story telling.
I was ambiguous about it I must say.

It was certainly atmospheric but there were several things that hampered my enjoyment of this section:
1) hardware demands and quite sharp FPS drops (technical, I know),

2) you usually have very little space to explore or operate and thus I always looked forward to getting out (no real reason to stay),

3) Controls of the characters you get once you prepare to take on the Draug- Controlling Geralt has enough essues as it is already but here, you even lose the option to roll, leap-attack etc, while also having to fight multiple enemies - you basically become a target practice doll...urgghhhh, really IRRITATING.

The scene with the Draug is seriously epic though (omg the VOICE OVER "We enter the fray!").

I think that accounts for the difference between Geralt (a possessional monster hunter..a mutant with super human strength and super human agility) vs other Humans.

One can make up for the lost agility with block/parry skills...

Apart from the above, I heavily suspect that drinking portion before the mist sequences carries the potion's effects..but is not displayed.

Same with the Quen duration..cast before entering the sequence.

I enjoyed it less on Iorveth's side, because there your path is predetermined. On Roche's side is was quite a lot of fun to run around the battlefield, kill wraiths, watch them fight... Very epic.

Iorveth's side completely wastes the huge possibility, and the awesome artistic work that has gone into this level by railroading you through it.

Yes, but it's certainly not fun.

I never tried potions, but from what I've read they're ineffectual in this level.

Must be the placebo effect on me, :).. My mistake if they don't work.

Don't take my word for it, I could very well be wrong.

I'm curious if they do work, it shouldn't be hard to check with potions like Swallow etc.
It is an interesting part of the game, It gives you some perspective.
But I must admit that I didn't enjoy use the other characters.
I miss a lot Geralt's Abilities, and it's a reliefe when I get it back even I still in the mist.
The first time I played TW2 I did NOT like the mist level at all.

I wouldn't say the combat parts are fun, but after playing Iorveth and Roche paths and getting a bigger picture from different sides about the battle, its now more interesting to see the battle from perspective of the soldiers, generals, priest. I would say I do like the mist level now because of the information and how it is presented.

And its the only chance for Geralt to get into Phillipa's bed afterwards ( of course she isn't gonna be in it at the same time... LoL!)

Story wise I like the level, it's the combat and how linear it is that I don't like.

It's just that you don't get to a chance to do anything at all between the stages of the Eternal Battle, which means that you'll need to be both very quick about it and probably have put two points into Specialization for +40% duration. With the +40%,all the relevant potions will last for 14 minutes instead of 10, still not terrifically long. And skip the cut-scenes, of course.
