I'm currently in act 1 beginning and thinking about restarting. Is it still possible to get the ability and/or get to the max level?
Training dummies?
Experienced is an ability that gives you 10% xp bonus. To get it you need to destroy 10 training dummies. 5 are in prologue.

Hmm. There are at least:

- Two at gate to Flotsam forest near Lobinden,
- Two at other gate to Flotsam forest
- Three (?) in Loredo's courtyard, don't recall exact number at moment (can only draw sword when you're not questing there)
- One or two in the guards' quarters in Flotsam, but you'll have to be quick about it (drawing your sword there alarms them)

AFAIK, there are 8 in act 1 which is not enough. That's why I'm contemplating on restarting. Worth restarting?

Cool, I didn't know that. What a coincidence, today I'm going to start my second playthrough on the Iorveth-path (having played through TW1 during the last week to create a Scoia'tael savegame for import). ^^
10% isn't /that/ huge, but it's nice. I gather that there are a couple of training dummies in Act III, but that's a bit late.

Off-hand, Cover, Assassin, Strong Stomach, and Haggle also have very limited windows of opportunity, so if you're restarting, be sure to nail those as well.

Will I get to 35 without it is my main concern? What's off-hand? I have those others. Didn't know about experienced until today. Goddamnit...

Depends on the path you choose. On one you'll get to 35 quite easily, on the other you might not even reach the cap with experienced.
Keep in mind that certain levels of progress throughout the game have their own level caps - so, once you hit one of those you won't level up with experienced either until you get further along. I guess experienced doesn't make a huge difference in the end result, but rather makes you hit the partial level caps a bit faster.

On perks generally: They're nice to have, and some of them even are quite a big advantage, but none of them are necessary for the game to be fun or to beat it. In my opinion, a missed perk just isn't worth starting all over.

I was going to choose Iorveth's path. Will that get me to 35 easily? I always do all quests.

I haven't known about that perk until my 3rd run, either.
Especially on the Iorveth path you easily get to 35 (I didn't on Roche, but on Iorveth I did, both without the perk).
Knew nothing about any dummies till now that I read this thread, am in Act 2 with Iorveth on Hard and doing perfecty fine, will take care of the dummies on my next run ;)
As far as I know, the XP bonus only applies to monster kills, and not completed quests (which are the main source of XP). With or without this ability, the end result is not that noticeable. My point is, I wouldn't restart the game, just because of this.
Wow, I didn't know about this.
Yep, being evil is so time consuming, you hardly catch up with the other stuff, I know that first hand.
