Hi all, I could use some advice on how to fight off the wraiths. Several times dead.
I have spectre oil on the blade, swallow running, and I've activated the two power nodes in the area.
Going sword to wraith isn't working. I can't block all 3 as they try to hit me, and swing my sword. I do have both levels in parry ability. I'm at level 9.
I just end up running around in circles, trying to pick off a wraith with igni, one at a time. Sometimes I can kill 3-4 before I get killed.
Is this a time based thing, or number of kills?
Any good strategies? Or is this meant for a higher level?
Thanks for any replies.

There are some posts about this...

Make sure you don't draw your sword until after she starts her ritual and the wraiths appear, or she may not ever start. Quen up, strike fast and rollaway. Repeat.

There are conflicting views if the # killed is important or not. Seems to be time-based to me.
Retreat until the wraiths stop attacking you. They won't attack the witch. Axii one of them, retreat, let them clobber each other. If a wraith is low on health, you might want to finish it off. Retreat, Axii again... and so on and so forth.
I"ll give those a try.
You can use bombs too.

But wraiths are rather nasty creatures, in extreme cases I hit once or twice (LMB) then roll away, rinse and repeat.
I was the last side quest I did in Act 1 before making the 'big' choice, so was around level 13 or 14.

I arrived at the site during the day and filled the glade (from the altar to the tress) with all the snare traps I had collected in Act 1. I had around 40... Then I prepared 5 Rage bombs and had these queued up. When this was done, it was dusk and I stood close to the alter waiting for night and for her to show up.

During the wait, 4 Endrega came for a visit, they all died in the traps... After this ,she just 'appeared' beside me. I saved, drank a Swallow and Rook pot and coated with Spector oil. We went through the initial convo, and she bean the spell. I immediately ran off to one side, cast Quen and threw a rage bomb at the first group of wraiths. One was fighting another, and traps were going off while I was dealing another. More began to spawn while I ran around the glade luring them through the traps and mopping up the injured. Might have thrown another Rage bomb, and then she shouted 'Done' and it was over.

I have no idea how many were killed, I probably did 5 and traps did the rest.

Yep, guess it was... ;) Was not sure how many wraiths would spawn and where from. I had all these traps and the situation seemed best place to use them. The pots I drank were more for insurance.
Took me awhile to collect the unused traps, at least 15 didn't go off.
