Malena is the girl who lures city guards into trap, and Geralt too even if He decides to help her.

Had a discussion before about Roche vs Scoia'tael, now I'm just interested what people do with Malena and why when decided to take the scoia'tael path in the game.

You can give her up to the guards or let her go first, then you have the option again (+ you can kill her yourself)
You have good reason to kill her or let her to be arrested, but if you follow a scoitael path you will end up killing city guards yourself so it would seem you are switching sides too easily.
What do you think?

I usually turn her over to the guards, after the ambush. I kill the guards in self defense no matter witch path i choose, even in Roche path i have to kill bunch of guards in Loredo estate.

Simple. I gave her all the opportunities to prove herself. I even followed her to the forest, to be able to see whatever she wanted to show us to prove her innocence. She got me and the guards into a trap. So had to kill her along with the elfs that set the ambush or give her to the guards after that. It doesn't affect the scoiatell path at all.

With my Geralt, it's personal. He's used to ingrates, but he stuck his neck out for her, and she tried to cut it off. And there's no way he's going to give that son of a bitch Loredo the satisfaction of making her talk. She said it herself, "the only witness that won't talk...", and her own words condemned her at Geralt's hand.

My Getalt helped her out In the first place because he was hoping for a bit of naughtie Elf action in Chapter 1.

He let her go the second time because he was hoping for some naughty Elf action in Chapters 2 and 3.

He is a deep, complex and multi-faceted character.

;-)
So I see most of you let her arrested or killing her ( I spared her and still waiting my reward :P), but: She and her firends are killing guards, so what? that's what the scoia'tael do. What is the point turning her in then helping the human killer scoia'tael rescuing their mates (maybe including her as well)? revenge? possibly..
I let her go, because if I spared her life twice, then perhaps her hatred towards the human race will cool off a bit, just like Iorveth as he tells you at the beginning of the Epilogue if you chose to help him. Young, stubborn and dumb elves need to understand that killing innocent humans is not a good thing. Killing the elves would just make it worse.
let her get arrested. accomplice to murder is a criminal offense.

Hm, innocent, yes...
At the end of the mentioned cave is a ladder and a trap door.
As far as I can tell this trapdoor leads to the back of Loredo's residence.

Considering how bigoted most humans are in this world, I also considered the possibility of the humans implicating the squirrels rather than squirrels being responsible for their deaths.
These are the guards after all, they've likely confiscated lots of s'coiatael equipment.

Due to that, there is reason for a first time player to believe she might be innocent and the player will therefor choose to gamble on that possibility.

What gamble? I just wanted to get laid. Damn.

I cannot deny that the Geralt I know did the same.
I let the guards hang her. I was still on the fence as to which side I was going to choose and she lied to me. Plus, I'm all about the orens and payment allowed me to hit up the brothel later on:D

I let her live (even after the ambush in the woods) just hoping she'd be a link to contact the squirrels. Hoping to use her for my goals, unfortunately she's been true to her word and never seen her again in the rest of the game.
