Hi guys,

I am a frustrated user of Steam and now hate the whole DRM thing. I actually bought this game from them which i regret. The whole patching has been a nightmare + the bugs due to whatever reason (steam mostly people think). Each time there is a patch i have been sitting for a day or two to download a 9gig file since Steam is broken.

Any way i actually am looking to buy the game without DRM now since i dont want to spend any more time on downloading in the future and installing their crap on my pc.
I just remember GOG offer nice prices and has DRM free but honestly the price is not that good. I compare it with a local shot that actually sell the disk for about 30 Euro (premium edition even).

So before i decide where to get this from i am wondering is there any sort of promocode i can use to get down the price or does it really cost 65$?

ps. either way in the future i will surely visit GOG to buy the game from here if they have it. Seems not all games go through here :(

I think anything but Steam is an improvement, but it's really up to you.

As Voodoo pointed out, GoG no longer use Geo Location, so you can just put down US as your country.

And Australians and Europeans get a credit when they have to pay extra, unlike greedy Steam who can be twice as expensive.

The GoG version has more extras, although it's nothing substantial.

It's really up to you.

I mean it's a beutiful country and all that, but if you do, you'll buy the censored version of TW2. While removal of the censorship might take 10 minutes plus the time it takes to search this very forum, but that'd still be 10 minutes less of your life you could have spent playing TW2 for example.

Also low sales ot the Australian version should send a signal. One not likely to be recieved, but who knows?

That's going to change soon, as they've decided to FINALLY allow (in principle, has yet to be legislated) an 18+ rating for video games.

However, the point still remains, don't move to Australia.

Buy the retail version for as cheap as you can find it. Patch it, and the DRM is removed. Presto! DRM-free and cheap as well.

Yes. Also, all DLC is included with latest patches.

Thanks Voodoo and all for your tips and comments. Changing to Us actually save me 20 bucks so thats what i will do. Truly hate Steam now and dont want to risk future problem so i will just buy it from GOG. I hope GOG manages to attract more companies to join them in the future. Right now i dont see to many big titles here but it might change with more people joining.

ps. and for 10$ i might even try witcher 1 later :D

You're most welcome. If you expect new and modern AAA titles... I wouldn't hold my breath. GOG main strategy is selling Good Old Games, therefore the sale of new big titles on GOG is highly unlikely. TW2 was an exeption since GOG and CDPR (the developers of TW2) are owned by the same parent company.

I do agree though, that there are still developers who own rights to some old classics, which have yet to sign up.

Also: have fun with TW2 and TW1 if you devide to buy the latter!

Now that is just terrible, TERRIBLE blasphemy. There probably is no other place where you will find that many 'big titles'. The majority of the games you can buy here are milestones of PC gaming history.
