About a day or so ago I hat the Dwarf in Flotsam craft a Yellow Meteorite Sword, and yesterday it served me well during the Endrega Contract quest. ( Combined with a Endrega Trophy and Insectoid oil. ) But I got the diagram for the Superb Witcher Silver sword after that quest, and I am a bit in doubt whether I should have it made and replace the Yellow Meteorite Sword.

I use mods like CEO so the stats are more then likely not standard. The Yellow Meteorite Sword Poison and bleeding are slighty higher then the Superb Witcher Silver Sword, and the Yellow Meteorite Sword has two enhancement slots while I think the Superb Witcher Silver word has only one?

They both have good points as can be seen in the screenshot that I attached, which is why I am a bit in doubt about which one to use more regularly? ( In the remaining part of Chapter 1, or untill I can get/find a better One. ) And yeah I realize that with the carry weight I have I could easily carry both ... but still. :)

So those of you who know the game better ... which Silver Sword do you people believe would benefit me more in the long run during chapter one? ( Incase it matters, I am became level 9 shortly before fighting the Queens. )

Why do you play the game if you don't wanna descover yourself the universe of game?, just try both and see what suit you better...

I have my reasons for asking peoples opinion on this. At the moment Orens are not rolling in ... eventhough I loot everything I find out in the wilderness and from peoples homes. If I think I can no longer use an item I sell it to, but even then I only have 1822 orens at the moment.

Could I have the Witchers Superb Silver Sword crafted ... yeah I could but I have not done so yet. Also the game econemy is not really fair in my opinion. The selling prices of quit a lot of items are very high, while if you try to sell the same item you often get way ... WAY to little Orens for it. ( Which is not really fair in my opinion. )

And yeah one could say ... "Hey what else do you expect in a brutal Medieval world like the one in the Witcher games" , ofcourse you will get ripped of. But that argument does not work for me. So I ask for peoples opinion at the moment on this because I do not wish to spend the orens on crafting the Superb Silver Witcher Sword if it is not worth doing so. ( Compared to the Yellow Meteorite Sword. )

Looks like the main advantage of the Witcher's Superb Silver Sword is the damage reduction on block. But you probably won't be blocking too much with your silver sword -- blocking is more useful against human enemies when you'll be using your steel sword.

So I'd be inclined to say you should keep your yellow meteorite sword. It's big poison bonus is probably better than the small bonuses on the other sword. Extra damage to insectoids vs. to large monsters are probably about equally useful.

It may depend a little on what your character build is. The extra damage on signs is great if you're doing a sign-focused build (I recently tried this build and it's a lot of fun!), but if you are focusing on swordplay then maybe you'd prefer the blockign damage reduction. Even then, though, I think the large poison bonus is better, even if it won't work on every enemy.

Then again, I'm not an expert... anyone else have other suggestions?

Thank you Waltorious that is usefull information, for now I guess I will stick with the Yellow Meteorite.

As for my character development ... well I was planning to go mostly Swordsman, with maybe a few points in Magic in later levels. Not sure about it yet, but if I do decide to put points in magic it will most likely be after level 20-25. ( Give or take. )

Against Monsters I only block if I am surrounded by 3 or 4, ( Which I try to avoid, but it happens. ) at that moment I block and then quickly attack the one in front of me. Against humans and Elves I block more alright. As for the unmodded game ... well a friend adviced me to use CEO, because other wise Geralt would become to strong to fast he said.

Well I play on normal right now and some fights where really though, ( Hey it is my first time playing a Witcher game. :) ) especially the fight against the first Endrega Queen was freaking annoying. Despite using a lot af snare traps and Qen with a lot of doge rolling, it killed me about 4 or 5 times. Then on the fifth or sixt times I finally got the kill, and some how the second Queen went down with 3 or 4 hits. ( Probably a criticall hit or two I guess. )

So I think I will try and see this evening how the game is without the CEO mod, perhaps I like it better then.

I've never tried the CEO mod, but in the unmodded game things are definitely harder at the beginning. Once Geralt has developed his skills and gotten better equipment things are easier going. I didn't particularly mind this, but I've only played on Hard and Dark Mode, so maybe on Normal the later stages of the game really are too easy.

Anyway, it's probably worth trying the unmodded game at least once. And if you want to get the full story of the game, you will have to play it twice anyway, so you can mess with mods and dififculty settings the second time if you want.

Well CEO does a lot for the items in game, to balance it so to speak. But yesterday I played with out it and so far it is nice. Better weapon damage etcetera. Yeah things like Throphies for instance get better/more stats with CEO, but for now I will keep playing without it. :)
