We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Some facts:

- options are outside game (keyboard mappings, graphics settings)
- you cannot bind ARROW KEYS to move. WTF?! You can set them by hand in INI file, but I don't know if they works in game
- you can bind keys in ini file

Please DO NOT POST "Use WSAD".

Edit: Example INI file with custom bindings , [url=http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/keyboard_remapping_issues/post29]2 (nice work Nilth and makejpq)

Warning: Your user.ini will be removed during installing patch 1.1 - and NUMBLOCK keybinding STILL NOT WORKING. So BACKUP YOUR INI before patching!

I'm very disappointed that my first impression with the game is that I can't bind the arrow keys to movement.

It's unacceptable to have non-rebindable keys - haven't CD Projekt seen the recent furore over rebindable controls and disability access? Not that I'm disabled, unless you count left-handed has being disabled!

EDIT: On further investigation it's even worse - many keys are unbindable, including keypad 0, - even letters like 'M'. How they can get this wrong is beyond me.

The fact that the key bind and video settings are all is outside the game in the launcher is really dumb.
I'm also having a major issue with key remapping - I use a "mirrored" WASD setup as a leftie (used it in Witcher 1 as well), in the form of PLÖÄ. Unfortunately, at least Ö and Ä are unbindable (no error message, just doesn't recognize)..

That has happeneed in a couple of games but then I've used my backup setup on the numpad - but doh - the numpad doesn't work here either.

Damnit, guess I'll have to resort to the Xbox360 gamepad.

I suggest posting this on the official forums as soon as they launch. CDP is known for going to great lengths to patch things the users don't like or would like, so I'm sure we'll see that someday.

It sounds like you haven't actually bothered to change the configuration file in a text editor. Though, I do agree that one shouldn't have to edit the file directly to make these changes (was the first thing I did).

The actual file you want to edit is dependent on whether you've used the Launcher's configuration to change any keybinds or not. You want to edit the user.ini file if you have (it will contain all the keybinds if you have), or one of the generic template files relating to the default input you have selected. These files are found in the documents -> witcher 2 -> config folder.

I will, but forums are down (stopped working day before release?).

It is so annoying when we can't control (=play) game and have to wait for some future patch...

I am a lefty and always have to adapt key bindings for games i play. This really should be able to be done through a GUI, rather than editing an ini file . . .
Poor design . . .

Yes, you can edit this file and get arrows working, but I can't find working IK_some for numpad zero, numpad dot, for Delete key...

Exactly - what's the point of having a configuration program if you have to edit the files manually to get basic functionality working.

I didn't have much time to fiddle with the ini files this morning, as I had to go to work. I was planning to do so this evening. I'd rather be playing the game than hand-editing its configuration, however.

There appears to be an interface for input of custom key bindings. Can't the developers hook the ini file to the interface, or was this just an oversight?
Using the Xbox360 gamepad worked pretty fine, until: dice poker - there's no way to throw the dice with the gamepad, and as the mouse and keyboard are (mostly) disabled when in gamepad mode, the game is stuck there with no way to get out.
Are you fucking KIDDING ME?
I cannot bind arrow keys, and I see they aren't the only one.

FIX THIS THING NOW, I cannot even remember the last time I saw such a nonsense.

A PC exclusive, REALLY?

Dead space game. But it was console port. And in Bad Company 2 you can't rebind "Enter". But Autohotkey can fix that...

Someone can point me which file i have to edit to rebind arrow keys? I'm left handed and I can barely play with WASD setup.

And NO, I won't use my controller for this game.
