Do any of you know if there is a way around the riding the tentacle pushing the mouse event during the Kayran fight...I get on the tentacle just fine...but the mousing not so well....I have an old graphics card...have a new on one order in fact...I have the difficult QTE turnied off...but still I push that button till my hands go numb...and I can never complete it...

Any help...suggestions would be welcomed!

Same issue, even with a game pad. I have turned QTE Difficulty off and still having issues...8+ hours of riding that tentacle and not getting 100% on the QTE!!! Think it is because I can't get the patch loaded but sure it is something in the game.

Okay maybe something else is going on then. I haven't had any QTE problems with the gamepad.

There is definitely something wrong here.

This isn't just a case of it being "too hard" for certain people. I'm playing with KB and mouse and on medium difficulty with hard QTEs on there is just no way that the "left click until the bar fills up" QTEs should be overly difficult for anybody. They are not that demanding, something just isn't working properly with registering the clicks.

I'd be curious to know what specific system configurations you guys have. What version of Windows, what type of mouse, and if you have any kind of software installed that affects the mouse in any way, like the Logitech control panel stuff or programs to remap keys.

I am currently using a Logitech mouse but was using a Microsoft mouse when I first started trying....I have windows Vista...Under Mouse it says HID-compliant mouse, I have a Geforec 9300 graphic card (and I do have a new one on order), Phenom 9550 quad-core with 2.20 ghz

I too am going mental. unable to master the QTE mouse click thing after hours of trying. At least after reading these posts i know i am not alone with this! Anybody found a magic bullet? I'm definitely getting sea sick with all that swaying around on the tentacle.

Lower your resolution. On two separate occasions I've seen users report the QTEs were being made difficult by the fact that the user was playing on a higher resolution than their computer could handle, and the mouse clicks weren't all being registered as a result. On both occasions, lowering the resolution fixed the problem. You can always go back to the higher resolution afterward.

Doing so may not solve every case of this, but it's definitely a good place to start.

EDIT: Just for the sake of clarity, I should mention that I'm talking about lowering your game resolution, not your monitor resolution. Figured you'd probably know that, but it never hurts to be clear :)

start a new thread on the subject asking for some one who has not had issues with the QTE to help pass the fight.
upload your save game (before the fight) to megaload or such.
there are a number of people that have been kind to run your saved game to the end of the battle so you can continue on.
there are other threads that have those saved games in them.

must be a problem with some particular mice, or the game being temperamental on some systems because the mouse-clicking sequences are insanely easy when the computer is functioning properly...

maybe in 2013 when the official forums come back up, you can ask for an official fix :P but yeah, clearly its a problem with the games programming... theres just no way that on its own those sequences are difficult even for people who are arent pc gamers.

I don't think the problem is the mouse, I've adjusted everything as low as possible. I'm even getting the stupid bar to fill up on occasion. When I do, the tentacle lets me off in the same place and then I see "space" flash at the bottom of the screen. It's a lag issue for me.
