I've died 20+ times now. I can't even kill it's 3 tentacles. No matter what I do my Yrden spell won't stick to it's tentacles. I get up to 2 tentacles gone but the third one is impossible. Even if I just stand still it won't stick and I have no idea what to do. I don't even get a chance to do the QTE.

Are you sure you aren't trying to trap one of the middle two?

It's only the outer tentacles (the ones with the orangish bulge) that Yrden will work on.

Oh, you might be right. I haven't tried that yet !

Edit: Oh thank god. I kept trying to trap the untrapable ones...

I kind of cheated with the QTE. I looked up which buttons to press. I did get swooped from it's 4th leg though because the right mouse button was appearing so fast. If I had not known about spacebar I would have had to restart. Either way I got to kill it. gee that was tough.

Haha, made an ass out of myself by trying to trap the middle tentacles too. Died 10 times or so. For someone who plays on hard, I don't pick up on visual cues very well. :D

Yeah I was looking when the tentacles would hit. 'trap the tentacles!' blablabla. Not saying the ones with the orange glow are the ones that are trapable.

Also I gained two whole levels from this beast. That really made my day. o.o

*laugh* You're not the only one. First time something glitched and I died in one hit (full vitality bar), and then second time the fight lasted like 20 minutes of me failing to trap those middle tentacles before a light bulb went off in my head.

Then I spent about another 20 minutes running around dodging rocks before realizing what we were supposed to do at the end.

I've never felt dumber in a boss fight before. :p

haha yep me as well and im also playing on hard.

altho after that i sort of learned my lesson and realised instantly that i must have to run up the fallen bridge and jump on the monster's head.

that didnt stop it taking me about 12 goes to accomplish though hahaha

Hard is the only way for gamers haha
I too died nearly ten times in total. Thoguh some was glitch (sometimes i cant atk at all, that was tough and another time i got stuck between near its leg and it just kill me in one hit there after toring my quen)

Anyway, after im done with him i relaod to fight again and it was all too simple. Ended battle with full bar.

Realized that the battle is all about quen and yrden which means vigor.
Drink the vigor regen 50% pot and the stage is all set.

Quen start of battle since the first hit was hard to dodge
Then yrden (use your self as bait with quen if need be) then BAM
Do that 4 times. and then final stage which mostly about relaxing yourself till the time is ripe
Btw, i have 2 questions...hmm the poison resistance pot is like only 5% useful in battle yes? since the atk that have poison is very rare.
I feel like being ripped off =o=.


Also, i remember once that even when he has half a health bar left i could still jump to his tentacle and progres to the final stage of battle...was i mistaken ?

You have to destroy 3.

Fight took me a few tries until I figured out what to do. Good preperation for other fights I think too.

I think NPC or books should give us a lil more info. At this rate, all boss needs us to die at least once to know how to kill it.

Makes me remember hercules game in the past. Took a long while before i realize you need to jump on top the centaur to kill it, not just fight it
