Only problem I had with the Kayran was the second stage of the fight. I couldn't see that I could get up there. And then it's hard getting past the tentacles.

What do I need to do in this room?
Hehe it's the room beside that one :P I know what elf lady you're talking about and I was also very confused. So go into the room beside that one ;)

I've been there as well. There are 2 rooms, in one of them there is a girl sleeping. Nothing more.

What do I need to do there?

What is it about the potion and the witch, totally confused.

Apologies for my ignorance, I'm really stuck.

I beg someone, can you please help and advise?

I can't seem to proceed. Maybe it's a bug, but I need to check.

To recap: I have Keyran quest and it says Go to the Tavern and ask around. I tried talking to everybody with no result. There are 2 rooms upstairs in the tavern.

The room on the left: a small room with a noble looking lady and some kind of a pentagram on the floor. I found a book, in which it said something about a lady called Shaela. I can't interact with the noble lady in this room.

The room on the right: I find nothing in there. There are 2 beds and there seems to be a prostitute here, but again I can't interact with her.

I've already talked to Loredo (the town commander). I was (unfortunately) caught when sneaking around his mansion, so the thing with the frame seems lost for me. Yet this shouldn't prevent me from completing the Keyran quest, isn't it?

I can't proceed.

I beg someone please advise what to do.

Have you tried talking to the "noble looking lady"? She's Sile de Tancarville, a sorceress who goes with you to fight the kayran.
Normally, after your preparations (trap, potion, etc, but those are OPTIONAL), just talk to her and say you're ready. She'll take you to fight him.

But I strongly recommend doing all the optional quests before, otherwise the fight will be much more difficult. Have you talked to Cedric the elf?

When you leave the town via the main gates, you will meet Triss the sorceress. She will tell you to talk to Cedric, the elves on top of the tree for more details... Try and do that first... :-)

the "noble lady" is who you talk to in order to go fight the Kayran. If it is not working it might be a bug, but it might also simply be that there is some earlier stage you have not yet completed. Off the top of my head I know you have to negotiate your fee before fighting the Kayran by talking to the merchant, and this is listed as a separate quest.

If you did everything and she won't talk to you try reloading your save over and over and see if it corrects the bug. This has been known to fix broken quests at times.

This must be a bug then.

Many many thanks to all of you. I was running crazy. I want to proceed and see what's next in this great game, amazing game. At least I know I did everything right.

I talked to Cedric the elf. He gave me a quest about insane people, something like this. I haven't seen Triss outside the city. Triss Merigold is standing in the tavern, by the window. I can only talk to her about some romantic stuff from the past, nothing more.

I will try reloading a saved game, maybe that will help.

Well, if you're sure. It should tell you to talk directly to the woman though, not to investigate the hotel. I still think you might be stuck on an earlier stage.
