This is pretty much how I see 95% of people completing Insane mode.

This is one of the reasons why I put my insanity run on hold for now. I hope they will fix this and the ability to change the difficulty during the game.

If they will "fix" this by disabling difficulty change in all difficulties, as a result of you not being able to be insane voluntarily, then we're gonna have a little talk, you and me...

I think the feature itself is good and should of course stay on other difficulty levels. And I really doubt they would do a major change like this just because a single person asks for it. :)

You have to remember though even on hard you can die in almost a instant if surrounded. And I would think it would be even more dangerous on insane.

Do you know what path your are going to take yet? I know that quest into the mine with you 3 buddies on Iorveth's path will be a real trial. So hard not to get surrounded on that one.

Irmstoi: What happens when Geralt dies?
The game ends and all your saves done with current playthrough are marked with skull symbol and cannot be loaded anymore.
What if you backup the saves into a different directory and then transfer then into your gamesave dir(in case you die anyways..might need to reboot to clear cache)?

My imported Moonbade(14-22dmg) had great stats 24%bleed +5 sign dmg(after I retrieved it Ch_1) it was only =5% bleed during Prologue!!

Doesnt that just defeat the object of playing the insane mode in the first place?

Dunno if its just me, but first playthrough was on Hard, and the combat was really difficult at first, but on insane mode, it seems like they have made it easier, anyone else think this? Might just be that i got better at the game tho :-/

Exactly.
If you don't want to play insane, you might as well play on hard...

I applaud those who can play this on insane. I'd really have to be mad; it's hard enough on normal for me, thank you :)

Keep in mind that the Steam version has an achievement for insane mode, so I'm sure you'll see a large number of people looking to cheat the system.

Sure, it defeats the purpose, but there's a large number of "gamers" who only care about end results, and will do anything to achieve them. And, no, I never understood why they play video games. :p

Would`nt it be as easy as to download someones insane save game just before Letho. I`ll bet you they will flourish after a while.

Irmstoi: I'm a bit worried about the Karyan fight and being one-shotted by the tentacles. It might be possible to take one hit if you have Quen up and have the best armor available at that stage of the game.
Even on hard, a direct Kayran hit should only take 1/3 to 1/2 your health if you have a full Quen up. Quen is the new Igni.

In all fairness, the first time I fought the Kayran, it one shot me with a tentacle at full vitality. Granted, it never even came close to that again, so that was either a strange bug, or the stars aligned for it to hit the max end of its damage range and then crit and then hit me from the back or something. ;p
Its just sad that people play games for achievements nowadays, ok, so u may get bragging rights, but to cheat to do it doesnt even give u that, im playing on insane now that I've finished it on hard, i doubt i will get through it on my first, 2nd, 3rd or 4th attempt, but if/when i do, i will be well happy with myself, dont need an achievement to make my self feel even better

Im positive now, that the combat is easier on insane mode as well, seems that its normal difficulty, with no saves, im flying through it with no trouble so far, got half way through the first act without even a sign of danger, quen sign and traps seem to be working a treat, especially the conflagration trap, messes loads of nasties up at once, saves a lot of hassle if ur scared of getting swarmed. Ive now decided that the eternal battle mission against the duarg is gonna be the bit im most afraid of, it was a bastard on hard, so i dread to think how ill do it first time :-(
