Okay, I can actually see one possibility for an expansion pack involving Roche (and Iorveth, both being potentially playable characters).

Somehow they get locked up in adjacent cells in a prison--Nilfgaardian, probably--and have a huge interactive conversation where they try to one-up each other constantly and decide who is verbally superior (since they already figured out who is superior in a swordfight).

If they made such an expansion pack, I would buy ten.

Marcin360: No love for bard's tales?

;(
I'd love another unrelated story like the one you guys did in W1. I would only wanna play as Dandelion for a short while not for the whole expansion.

I would be stuck in my room replaying that

forever.

The original game didn't have enough Roche/Iorveth bickering tbh.
or how about a Roche / Iorveth romance!!!!!!!
Playing Roche and Iorwerth is 'technically' not suitable. Their combat will be limited and they can't fight like Witcher's do. Also in order to portray that, CDPR may actually need to code that he is able to shoot from his bow. And how about aiming? Auto-targeting? Players will complain that is dumb-down.

Or no combat involve when assuming Roche or Iorwerth role? Or make it same that limits only blocking and slashing like what some of the scene in Witcher 2? Actually it was so frustrating when assuming the role of the undead guard and he actually need to capture the banner. He has only blocking and slashing with no other ability. It was a really tough battle when fighting the 2 enemy elite and the draugir with limited ability.

Adding more side-quests, contracts, locations, monsters, armors/weapons would be one of the possble way if you asked me though.

they did say DLC would be new adventures, adding new sidequests weapons and armor is more of a patch thing (unlike bioware). I agree that playing as Iorveth or Roche would be kinda boring and it feels like fanservice if there was a DLC exclusive to their bickering.
DLC #? A River Runs Through It

I think the river journey between chapt 1 & 2 has potential. A couple of DLC adventures would fit in either Roches or Ivoreth's paths-since you leave Flotsam on a boat either way.

1) Boat travel on large rivers is difficult, there are constantly moving sandbars, snags, eddies and so on. You have to hire a local pilot. So something kills the pilot the captain picked up in Flotsam. Wounds on the body point toward some kind of vampire. Refusing to continue without a local pilot the captain puts in at a small village to hire another. The quest could involve finding a new pilot (perhaps resolving some problem he/she has that's preventing them from leaving the village), Finding out what killed the first pilot (talking to villagers, visiting a nearby monastery for research, then a dungeon crawl to deal with the monster). And there has to be a tavern for fighting, dicing and arm wrestling. Maybe a craftsman as well. It would be pretty easy to tack on a number of side quests here.

2) The boat runs aground on a sandbar and has to be repaired. Geralt and Roche/Ivoreth decide to do a little exploring and foraging(or search for suitable trees for repairs). They could encounter bandits, poachers, monsters, frantic villagers, Nilfgaardian scouts, maybe poke around some ruins.

3) A local lord has strung a chain across the river and is collecting/extorting tolls illegally. A furious Roche/Ivoreth decides to sort him out. The lord has too many men for a full on assault so some careful planning is involved: stealth recon of the castle and its defenses, some ambushes to whittle down the opposition, enlisting local aid(the villagers detest the lord-a captive maiden rescue mission could come into play), a commando raid to take the lord captive. Or the lord could capture Geralt and or Roach/Ivoreth (I know that's a bit of a stretch with those two badasses but everyone makes dumb mistakes sometimes). This would lead to rescue/breakout missions. A plot complication might be having the lord scheming with Nilfgaard or maybe some remnants of Salamandra.

4) Take the helm! A storm comes up and the helmsman is swept overboard. Geralt must steer the boat through rapids, avoid snags, etc. In the middle of a raging downpour.

5) Some fun quest, like a fishing contest. Maybe a QTE setup would work. Or while trying to land the biggest fish, Geralt hooks something really big and nasty. But there would be some good treasure in its stomach.

6) Solve the mystery: The boat puts in at a small village for supplies. But the village is completely empty. No people, no animals, uneaten food left on tables. And one word scrawled on a door..Croatoan
Or there are signs of violence everywhere,-mutilated bodies, burned huts and strange occult symbols painted in blood..they look like Vodyanoi writing but the Vodyanoi prefer more open water not rivers. Something isn't right

Talk to Marcin over there, he seems eager to make Savior of Queens happen ;)

Of course the ability to play as anyone else but Geralt would be fanservice. We can still put silly ideas out there, no?

What do you mean by "CDPR may actually need to code that he is able to shoot from his bow"? He DOES shoot from the bow. Aiming might be an issue, but I don't see how it would be any different from throwing daggers (except that it would be a bit slower). You could get some pretty cool combat options - shooting arrows from a safe distance (in a ~sneaking mission? Poisonous arrows, anyone?) and fighting with two swords up close. Hardly "limited".

Ugh them dumb soldiers in Draugir battle. Don't remind me D:
So if we are considering playing as characters other than Geralt like Iorveth and Roche, how about a part in which we play as one of the sorceresses? That would be nice in terms of getting deeper into magic, mostly in combat situations.

The idea of making an expansion dedicated to characters other than Geralt sound reasonable to me, as The Witcher has a set of really strong and well written 2nd plan characters and they deserve some digging deeper into their stories.
Oh, oh, oh!

Can we get a play as Troll mini-game? :D

(love your sorceress idea, Gregski :))
I want to return to Kaer Morhen ( i just loved this place in witcher 1 ).
I would like to play as Letho.

seekerpat:
Yeah, river journey through that misty forest might be a good quest/monster hunting source.
These ideas are great and I love them. =D

Troll, Letho, each of the sorceresses, back fighting story between Roche and Iorveth.

That would be fun indeedy. =D
I would like to see the skill tree expanded. New abilities, more than 2 upgrades, maybe even a new sign. More oil types and bombs would be nice too. TW1 had more of this stuff.
