I imported a save-game upon which in every aspect I chose shanni, and rejected Triss like the plague but then I wake up in the same bed with her in witcher 2 ? why ? and why would I suggest the King I want to take off with her ?

-- this is not really spoiler since all this is already revealed in 1000s of screenshots and playboy magazines and etc . . .

I wont say where is Shani, but why commitment to Triss.

EDIT: I mean if triss looked like in the concept art I would have like her. she reminded me of Natalie Portman, but in game she just looks ugly. triss vs natalie??

Geralt has a thing for sorceresses.
+1
Shani don`t even mentioned in TW2
Shani is unimportant character , she wouldn't add anything to games story. It's all about Yen and Triss , both are very deep and interesting characters.

Because Triss is magical and she cast a spell... in your pants.

Seriously though, I was a bit bothered by this at first, but her character in TW2 has certain Shani-esque elements that were missing in the first game. Besides, there's an amusing parallel between the two games in that you end up in bed with Triss in the beginning of both.

But more to the point, she's way more important to the overarching story than Shani could ever be.

They're not. At least not based on what was revealed during both games.
You have to realise that TW 2 is based on Sapkowski's novels, and Triss is one of main characters. They simply can't remove her from the game

True. But the folks at CDPR are the people who made Shani such an important part of TW1 in the first place. They didn't HAVE to make her important, but they chose to do so. Having done that, I think it is kind of a betrayal of the people who chose Shani to drop her now.

As a doctor, Shani could very well have been in Foltest's camp right before he's about to go to war. I'm sure he could use her. She could have autopsied the dead assassin and delivered the report that Triss gives at the beginning of TW2. Sure, Geralt would have to meet up with Triss at some point, because she IS an important character ... but there's room for Shani in TW2.

CDPR chose to cut Shani after making her important, and I don't blame people for being disappointed in that choice.

Sounds like you may have work to do!
I kind of agree with OP. I got a feeling Developers tend to shove Triss down our throats. I really dislike Triss in the games and I did everything I could do to distance Geralt of her: sleep with random people, reluctantly searching for her, not choosing to save her, etc. but in the end she somehow managed to stand next to my character like some damned love interest and main heroine. Pft! The first time my Geralt will see Yennefer, I am dumping that silly redhead.
I agree, this bothered me too. Triss in TW1 was quite obnoxious. Luckily, she's much better in TW2, but I would still have liked that particular line of choices carrying over from the first game.

Only two of the books have been translated into English, so I don't know as much about Yennefer as Polish fans do. But from what I saw of Yennefer in The Last Wish and Blood of Elves, Triss is MUCH nicer than Yennefer. Like Letho, I've never understood what Geralt saw in Yennefer. :-)

*laugh* That's sweet of you, and it would be nice if someone added Shani to TW2, but it won't be me. I fell in love with TW1 and got rather obsessed with it, hence all my mods. I like TW2 -- I like it a lot -- but I didn't fall in love with it, the way I did with TW1. It's just a game.

My next project will be to make a game of my own, so someone else will have to mod TW2. I'm sure there will be lots of folks to pick up the banner and carry it forward!

I don't want and plan to post spoilers, so I will only say that if we compare what Yennefer and Triss have done for Geralt, the first sorceress is clearly the winner. Besides, Geralt and Yen are worth each other with their constant bickering, cheating with random people and trying to be more eloquent than the other one ;-)

They could have had a slightly different intro were Geralt and Triss have different quarters. After that the player is pretty much allowed to treat Triss anyway they want. I've only gone down one path in TW2, but by the end you do get the chance to say some really harsh things to Triss. Not to mention you have the opportunity during the game to say and show that Geralt doesn't really consider Triss his love interest.

I honestly can't believe they didn't offer that to the players that choose Shani over Triss. A simple little change in the intro could have changed everything (and of course through a journal entry about how Shani had to stay behind for whatever reason).

Most of the secondary characters have little to do with TW2 as well. So what was the point of including a Thaler references at all? Or Adda? None of these characters do anything so they might as well have left them out for those that choose to let them die/kill them.

These stories take place after the books anyhow. They are already letting you do a lot to shape the world and change varies things. No reason why they have to stick you with certain love interest.
