So no one knows a way to get the formula back?

Its very common formula, just buy it back from 2-3 choice of vendors in Flotsam. Atleast I think it is (played on easy so no idea if store get restocked daily on normal too),

Might even get to buy it back from the same place you sold it to...

That potion isn't even that huge deal anyway (can't use it during combat so need to know when to use before going into combat)

yeah id try the herbalist on the outskirts of flotsam. i cant remember whether she had a swallow recipe but im pretty sure she had quite a lot of others...

if youre heading east out of flotsam towards cedric's lookout point hang a left (north) just before you get to the ladders and keep heading north until you see the north-eastern most house. that's the herbalist.

No swallow unfortunately, I guess I'll just have to play the game without that potion :(.

I guess it is a bug. If you don't count stuff like that allowed to be sold in the first place a bug :)

They shouldnt have made it possible to sell it if you cant buy it anywhere else, its a very useful potion. I really dont want to start a new game just so I can make the potion again.

Any luck finding the recipe? I'm having the same problem...

Started Chaper 2 today and I'm hoping I can find someone that sells it.

Out of curiosity, can you just place the correct ingredients into the alchemy menu and concoct the potion without the actual recipe?
I know you could do this in the first game, so I'm wondering if this would solve your problem.
I can't actually tell you which combination of herbs you need right now as I'm at work, but perhaps someone else can?

Same problem. Sold all my recipes hours ago, just now noticed I can't use them anymore, nobody in town has them.

What's the point of even having a permanent list of formulas in the journal if you need to have the recipe in your inventory in order to use it?

Yes, it does seem a little odd. I guess they thought it might add some form of realism.
However, the solution would be to have a recipe book (which, in effect is your journal) so that once you read a recipe it gets copied to your recipe book and the recipe note disappears from your inventory.
