I start up the game but right from the intro on there is like a cloudy haze over everything I cannot make out anything is going on, when I actually get passed the first little intro part its even worse, the world doesn't show up, the character doesn't show up I just have sound and that's it. I have an ATI Radeon HD 5700 card with the newest drivers, any ideas?

I've seen a few other ATI users with this issue. I don't know if they managed to fix it, but here's hoping they did.

I certainly hope so, the game is pretty much unplayable at the moment, and I don't know why ...

That tends to happen if you're forcing antialiasing in Catalyst Control Center or whatever. If you go into CCC and check the "use application settings" box, it should fix the problem.
