I have a fine motor disability that makes it nearly impossible for me to complete the QTE Fist-fighting combos; even when it feels like I have hit the button the the second that the additional quick-time prompt has appeared, it is almost invariably too late. The damage sustained over several of these combo-failures is enough to kill Geralt immediately after the fight in most of the later fist-fights.

Therefore, I want to ask if anyone knows where I could change the game files to either extend the time delay between the key prompt and failure to something beyond a milisecond or outright cause all fist-fights to automatically succeed/not inflict any damage/etc. (anything that gets me through).

While this may be unsporting, I'd rather like to see all that the game has to offer, and my fine motor coordination is so poor that I simply can't clear things like the Flotsam Fight Club without Geralt instantly dying at the end of the encounter (which I ultimately "win" by getting all of the non-combo QTEs correct).

Alternately, does anyone know of any mods that would do the above?

Yes I have disabled "hard QTEs" and yes I did try the troublesome Fist-Fights on Easy. The combo buttons still apparently flashed more rapidly than electrical current travels between my brain and my fingers.

It might not work in your case, but for some people turning "hard QTEs" on actually makes fistfights easier. I first played with this setting off and failed about 40-50% of the prompts (it felt like I had less than half a second for reaction); after turning "hard QTEs" on I fail less than 10% (it feels like more than a second now).

If this does not work for you, post back and we'll try to find a setting somewhere in the game files.

Edit: Ok, just because I was curious I poked through some of the game's files (the XML ones, haven't tried to understand others yet).

I found nothing that changes fistfighting - there seem to be no specific parameters, armor doesn't reduce the damage you receive (even if you modify Geralt himself to have a lot of armor, it doesn't work), Geralt's damage is likewise irrelevant. Also, vitality regeneration doesn't seem to work during a fistfight (so you cannot use potions to increase your chances).

But what can be easily done is to give Geralt a lot of vitality (e.g. 10000) - this will absorb a lot of hits.

So, if turning "hard QTEs" on doesn't make your fights easier, you can download this file http://www.mediafire.com/?le6e04tosmcqb4q and extract it into CookedPC\abilities folder in your The Witcher 2 installation.

Of course, if you don't want all other fights to become too easy, you'll need to remove it when you're done fistfighting.

After trying it on Easy with Hard QTEs and the health modification, I've come to the conclusion that fistfighting is somewhat buggy. When I was playing, certain combos would come "normally" and it would be quite possible, although still requiring quicker reflexes than the initial button press, to make the combo. At the other times, the same combo prompt would go by so quickly that by the time one could depress any of the WASD keys the fistfight had already moved on to the next action. In this regard, The combos with the second button press as the D or A keys seemed to be consistently unwinnable and never appeared to give enough time for completion.

Thanks for the help. It would still be quite interesting to know how the basic fistfight parameters could be modded, however.
My problem is i'm old(64), slow and have poor game skills. All the suggestions hasn't worked for me. The download to cookedpc's didn't take effect. I don't see how an ordinary Teremanian guard can kill Geralt in a matter of seconds because it's QTE. I know the game wasn't designed for people like me but it appears this is endgame for me. You can't get a refund because your game skills aren't good enough to complete the game.
