Since they come for free with 1.2 (no need to download with launcher), is it possible to remove them somehow?

I ask because they disrupt regular flow of equipment progression in 1st chapter. Why bother crafting or finding proper armor in 1st chapter, if you get Roche Jacket for free, Why try making oils if you can get superior Whitestone (+20% damage, huge duration). Why bother succeeding stealthing in one of early quests in 1st chapter to get robust silver sword disgram, if you can just buy it from start from mysterious merchant, And get lots of money from increased drops with alchemical gloves.

It seems most of game early balance is tossed out of windows if you get all those extra pre-order freebees at once.

go to the game's CookedPC folder and delete the appropriate .dlc files *edit - oops, sorry, they're .dzip now. either way, they are clearly named

Raye: go to the game's CookedPC and delete the appropriate .dlc files
Or back them up, so that you're able to activate them easily, if you want to. :-)
I've done the same. The mysterious merchant just seemed too OP for my liking. And I had no need for the Roche commando jacket or any of the suits because I had imported Raven's armour from Witcher 1. Thanks for letting us know how to remove them.
Hmm...
They are actually dzip files.

List of all dzip files in CookedPC:
alchemy_suit.dzip
arena.dzip
dlc_finishers.dzip
elf_flotsam.dzip
hairdresser.dzip
magical_suit.dzip
merchant.dzip
pack0.dzip
roche_jacket.dzip
succubuss.dzip
swordsman_suit.dzip
troll.dzip

I guess these are pre-order DLCs:
alchemy_suit.dzip
dlc_finishers.dzip
magical_suit.dzip
merchant.dzip
roche_jacket.dzip
swordsman_suit.dzip

^I'll probably keep finishers pack. ;)

This one Troll Trouble DLC:
troll.dzip

Huge one! Base game, I guess:
pack0.dzip

Related to AU censorship?
elf_flotsam.dzip
succubuss.dzip

New Hair Styles DLC:
hairdresser.dzip

For this one, I have no idea???
arena.dzip

the ones at the bottom of your post aside from the hairdresser all came with the vanilla version of the game, so i wouldn't touch them
Arena could have something to do with the sword fighting place in Henselt's camp in Chapter 2. I have the elf_flotsam and succubuss ones but my version isn't censored.

It could be that AU version is missing those two, which in fact enable scenes that were censored in AU version.

I guess this is ist. Probably you aren't able to have sex with Ves after the tournament in AU version.

Ah, of course.
I just sell those preorder items, they really are stupid.
In my new playthrough I removed the roche jacket and the oils, they boost you way to much at the start of the game and kinda defeat the point of trying to get better equipment early on

I find the Kayran armour kinda annoying as well, since it's so damn good you can't help but get it really :)
Pre order DLCs should be only optional. I definitively don't want them in my game !
What DLC should a first time player delete? I'm importing a Witcher 1 save. I just don't want to have overpowered items that ruin the progression of the game.

I was also kind of annoyed that I'd be missing out on the challenge of the prologue since I noticed they made it easier. I'm guessing that was for all difficulties and not just normal and easy?
