remember in TW1 where you press D or A two times you do a spinning dodge
Rolling is quite awesome aswell though^^ Im planning to go back and replay the Witcher 1 for the sake of it and i have to admit..ill miss the rolling lol
The rolling spam make things much easier for combat. I would have them cost vigor and make vigor a key element in the game.

i think things should be balanced independently and not everything should be tied to one bar.

but if you are going to tie it all to one bar make that bar longer

That is what i'm saying.. making Vigor a key element in the game. Have skills upgrades that could increase capacity of vigor and regeneration rate. We can leave the tuning and balancing upto CDPR so that in bigger areas you can't resort to kiting to win battles.
Thing is though..the game is broken balance wise anyways =) Its way too easy once you get geared up..if it isnt rolling spam then its quen spam or bomb spam, out of the three evils i prefer rolling though. At least it adds to the visual thrill of battle and requires some tactical awareness.

The balance of combat, character level and gearing is just all over the place right now in my opinion.

The very same imbalances that existed in the original game aswell funnily enough.

Though, with a bit of fine tuning..it could be perfect =)

The thing I hate about rolling is the animation. Somersaults != epic. I wish Geralt did a quick shuffle or leap instead. Am I nitpicking? Maybe, but that's how a i feel.

I miss the good old Pirouettes!

Me too. Rolling all the time is just plain silly. Geralt's movement is severely limited in The Witcher 2. He can't even walk backwards or sidestep. Geralt is a lot more maneuverable and responsive in The Witcher.
rolling doesn't look good when spammed atleast spinning kinda makes sense

Yes,spinning makes a lot of sense. Geralt can still evade attackers while keeping them them in range for sword blows. Rolling increases the distance too much (if you upgrade it it's even worse) and this is why TW2 combat is hit and roll/run even when fighting only one opponent. Pirouettes keep the combat tight and focused.

I miss that.
i would have preferred to have seen a counter-attack function (and i dont mean like riposte or whatever it was - i didnt really like how it was implimented) - kinda like arkham asylum, but with a cooldown timer attached so that you cant spam it.

but i think the thing id have liked to have seen MOST.. was a better and more dynamic and smoother blocking system.

i think i tried blocking 3 or 4 times at the start, and just ended up giving up on it, because it just wasnt practical, didnt feel intuitive and rolling was more effective.

but yes i suppose adding pirouettes or flips to break out of groups would have been good, if for nothing else other than just to add extra animations to the dodge maneuvers and make the combat look a bit more exciting and interesting.

C'mon, he can't walk backwards, sidestep, spin, jump over foes. All he can do is turn left/right/back and run/roll. Of course, he can climb and jump but only in pre defined locations and not in fight.
