After a lot of frustration trying to get textures to work properly, would really appreciate if any of you who have success doing so, if you could please enlighten me as to exactly is it that you are doing to get the textures to show properly in-game.
I followed the instructions posted on the thread, below, but still, my textures do not look like they should once I export them to xbm, and I am sure, I am missing a step somewhere which is not documented here (or anywhere I can find in the great internetz)

I have tried the very basic process of extracting the xbm to dds, then without doing any changes to the dds, immediately convert it back into an xbm, and this is the result I get (see picture atatched below). So, I am guessing, there is something being done with the dds during editing/saving that I am not doing. It is worth mentioning, I am using GIMP 2.6, which I have used with great success to work on dds files in Oblivion, Fallout, etc.
So, could anyone please, explain how are they saving the edited dds files? Any changes in mode, layers, compression, etc? Anyone using GIMP to do the editing?
Any information will be greatly appreciated.
