I've been having many problems with the configuration tool in w2. See, I have a good laptop, not one of those crappy ones nor the ones were you'll get blinded by the lights that's coming from it. I can run most/all games in max settings, specifications are in the end, but the most I can do it 15-30fps, which I thought it was because of ATI not being ready for the game or bugs in the vanilla of w2. After the hotfix and the 1.1 patch, no improvements. So, there are 3 more possible situations. 1. I'm incredibly stupid and have no idea what settings I should run the game at or how to configure Catalyst. So, if anyone is willing to help that possible situation, tell me the best settings I should run the game at to get a steady 30fps or more and good game quality too (I've tried the auto detect function, but it doesn't help). 2. The game has yet to be fully patched to run on Mobility Raedon 5870, and ATI is a horrible company. To help that one, I figures if anyone has a rig similar to mine is having the same problems, then it's not something that can be fixed by me. So reply if that's your case. 3. I'm just being a spoiled little brat who wants a quality looking game on a rig that can't handle it. I'd prefer that not to be the case.
Specifications
Asus G73JH
i7 740QM Tried both OC and normal
Ati Mobility Raedon 5870
6gb DDR3
1600x900
Also, I came across a weird thing. Vertical sync drops fps by 5 and introduces stuttering. Without it, screen tear is very noticeable. If I turn on AA and in Catalyst put AA to Super-sample, game looks better, no mouse lag, and believe it or not slightly better fps. I played the Dragon thing in the intro over and over again, the highest it went was 33fps. As for the settings, I put it on Ultra and disable UberSampling, mess around with the depth of field and motion blur and Vertical Sync, and I put Shadow lights and Shadow quality on high.
So, any advise?
