Anyone notice how in some fights you get attacked instantly after a cutscene without even having enough time to unsheathe your sword?

This has probably been in the game since it came out, but I think the reason I notice it more is because in Dark Mode one hit takes like half of your health.

Examples I can give of being attacked instantly after a cutscene would be the fight against the guy wearing Seltkirk's armor on Roche's path and in the memory sequence when you control Roche to fight against Iorveth (and vice versa)--lol, right after ROche's dream sequence starts I get whirlwind slashed by Iorveth; I had to spam the movement keys g next time I retried while the game was loading because he literally attacks you right after the cutscene.
Had the same problem on the Troll in chapter 1 (Dark mode) myself, but it helps having the Quen sign ready for such occasions.
Yeah it happened to me on the Roche vs. Iorveth fight too. I lost the fight before I could even move.

Sorry for extreme necro but I found this through Google.

This tends to happen more if you skip through cutscenes, specifically the last cutscene in a sequence just before a fight.

It might be tedious especially if you've played the game before, but a good tip is to not skip through the cutscenes, or at least, not the ones where you know or suspect a fight waits at the end.

Sometimes, it's not only that you risk getting hit, it's also even with sword out Geralt's first movement may not even be recognized. For example you might be able to get a sign off, but the moment you try to move forward (say after an Aard) he won't. You have to stop pressing the movement key, then do it again, which wastes time and opportunity.

Welcome to console ports.

A hardware problem? In my first playthrough I observed similar effects, but using a better graphic card, these problems vanished. Now I don't have any problem to cast an Aard immediately after a cutscene and attack. An example:

It's not a hardware problem. I don't care if it "vanished" for you or not, it's a symptom of console porting.

Also if you're that same obnoxious headhunting prick on the Steam forums, then kindly stop replying to me. Keep your bullcrap on Steam. Yes, you know what I am talking about. Yes, it IS you.

Please not speek of Steam, I ran away from there, despite having lots of games; Games that were never mine were always borrowed. I paid for them. And I did not get anything back when I dropped Steam.
Think about it.....
Congratulations on Witcher 1, 2 and III. It was good to miss hours to play ..... Let's hope Gog has more Games in this category Congratulations ....
