Pelicashka: Any suggestions on fixing that, Devs? Let's keep this thread bumped up, people.
I'd just point out to the several of y'all in this thread who are talking to the devs that comments here aren't necessarily read by them, any more than they'd be in a forum on Steam or Direct2Drive.
If CDPR doesnt read these fourms and the official ones are gone, do they know? This is a fairly major issue.
Confirming same issue - 2560x1600 desktop resolution; but plays fine when launched windowed.

I've got a 30" monitor as well, at 2560x1600.

You have two options:
1. Reduce your desktop resolution to 1920x1200 (or thereabouts)
2. Set the game's options using the configuration program and disable Fullscreen (go to windowed).

I tested both and they work; I prefer #1 as I don't like windowed mode.

yeah , I tried #1 and it didn't work for me.
I'm not even gonna try #2 since I hate playing on windowed mode. it'll also significantly reduce the performance.
I got a fable 3 along with witcher 2, at least fable 3 runs flawlessly...
I am having the very same problem as DavidGil but the Icon doesnt Dissapear it just stays there on the screen for ever and I have to open up Windows Task Manager to close it.
I have ATI radeon 3000 graphics, and my Monitor does run at 1920x1080 but I still run into the problem of the icon just appearing after I click Launch Game. I tried to go Windows mode and that didnt work either
I can confirm a similar issue.

I have a 30" monitor @ 2560x1600 resolution with a single Radeon HD 6900 with Catalyst 11.5

The game will not launch if it is set to full screen @ 2560x1600 resolution.

If I set the game to run in full screen @ 1920x1200 resolution while still leaving my windows desktop setting at 2560x1600 the game will still fall to launch.

however if I now change my Windows desktop down to 1920x1200 and the game is still set to 1920x1200 Fullscreen, the game will launch properly.
yeah I have a 25Screen inch monitor and it has max res of 1920x1080 same as the max for the game res and it wount launch in windows or full screen
By the way, don't know if this had been said, but when you got more than one monitor, you just have to put the others down and then it works fine.

I have 3 20' screens (1680*1050) and I had the same problem with an ATI Card. So I disabled the 2 other screens and everything went fine. Sad that the developers forgot this.

Some tidbits from the official site
Will the forums be back online?
Yes! We are also working on this. It looks as we will be doing final tests on Wednesday and if all goes well, we will bring the forums back online shortly after
So basically if the devs never read this forum, (and btw since the guys are the proprietors of this place, and many people bought W2 from GOG specifically so that all the revenue goes directly to CDPR, why would they not read it?) there hasn't been any channel for the community to have a direct discourse with the team.

That would be really sad and unprofessional :(
I had the same issues yesterday, game would not load up and keep reverting back to launcher. Today i finally managed to get the game to load up. Here`s a rundown on what i did.

Uninstalled the game.
Disabled eyefinity mode and ran with 1 monitor with res of 1920x1080
Installed and patched game
Set in game res to 1920X1080 and disabled fullscreen.
Launched game and it worked but no sound on G35 headset gggrrrrr
Exited game and enabled eyefinity group (triple screen)
Set in game res to match eyefinity group res (desktop res) + dsiable full screen.
Launched game and again it loaded up fine, tho res only stayed at 1980X1200 on middle monitor (2 side monitors were blacked out, so def does not support eyefinity.
Still no sound on G35 but got sound through my X-fi and speakers on 5.1.

Hope this helps any others
I'm sure they have the feedback and are working hard to resolve issues. Official forums working or not.
I suppose things are a bit hectic right now in the development department so I guess expecting the devs to waste time on forums re-reading the same problems over and over again is a bit counter productive.
I hope CDPR learns from this experience. They are in the big leagues of gaming now, I dare say they are coming up to be the next Bioware (Before the EA Buyout that is).

They are going to have to get on the ball with it, the forums down on release, and all the server problems is really unprofessional. Still This is their first huge release as a AAA game so I can give them some slack but alot of people wont, as they are use to dealing with the professionalism of the big names like EA, Activision etc.
