Finished the game with 42hr playing on the medium... probably lost about 5-6 quests, and chafted about 6 itens, plus traps and so on. yea, some of the bosses fights are kinda hard to understand, but once you get hang on it, it is cake.

Does anyone knows if after we are done with the game, we still can keep playing? everytime i get to the last save, it shows the witcher on top of a clif, looks under the city adn walks away. done... credits... i hope someone will come out so we can keep playing like a long endless rpg game. That would be sick.

You do realize there are two paths in this game? If you picked one, play the other, because both are vastly different. Items and things don't carry over.
Yes, i have been playing it again, but doing some of the quests over again is just a pain. Think about it, Blizzard created Diabblo that is a game that you can keep playing after you are done, farming for other things, and the game is not a MMO. Just like withcer.

If you have played Mass Effect 2, you would understand. Very similar to the witcher, but instead haveing 16 ends, it got 4 dif ends and the game is super long. Even more, after you are done with all teh quests, you can still check up your character and keep going all over the place. I mean, cmm, that is not too hard to do. It makes peaple love their toons. stick to the game. and not play the same things over and over 16 times with some changes in who you killed or not.

only the first quests are the same, once you get to chapter two, you are are in an entirely different location.
The Witcher games are stories. They've got very defined beginnings and ends. To have you continue playing after the end in a sandbox is something I don't think the devs ever wished for these two games.

Couldn't have said it better myself. People keep expecting something from this game that it is simply not.

42hrs is pretty decent amount of playtime. Mass Effect 2 took me less than 40hrs to complete doing every single mission i could find, including mining all the planets.
I see you guys point. Agreed. But lets jsut said like this: game game is so perfect and the fights are so awesome that would be nice if all the other games could be the same. and having a game like the witcher to be abble to play it for a long long time would be outstanding. Just wish list.

Yes, and this is a much better game than ME2. You can hardly call that game an RPG. I hope CDPR continues to revolutionize the genre with more non-linear story focused games for many years.

I'v been in Chapter 1 for about 10-12 hours already but I find that 70% of my playtime so far has been wondering around trying to complete the quests that don't tell me where the hell i'm supposed to go and another 20% of my gametime has been replaying fight scenes because of how damn hard they are. I spend forever aimlessly running around since most the sidequests don't have minimap indicators. Then I get lost out in the woods because my minimap spins around everywhere which makes me lose my direction and I can't mark a spot on the main map to follow. Take the Melena quest for instance, it's absolutely retarded and gives you no indication on where to look at all. After about a hour of searching for her I finally just had to google it. It turns out she was behind a wall in some little nook that I would never think of searching.

I love this game but if it uses these little nuances to really boost it's playtime 10x.
42 hours? That's quite a long amount of time. Took me about 25, and ME 2 took me 20-something (can't remember). But ME2s was padded by quite a bit of planet scanning.

What I would like though is if replaying gave you extra skill points for a/the second play through. I was really enjoying some of the finisher moves at the end of the skill tree, but I only got half of chapter 3 to enjoy it.

Uuuuh...
I took a lot less time to beat Mass Effect 2 (~20 hours played) than Witcher II (34 hours and not done yet).
42 hours is short?
i did spent a lot of time in the inn playing other games, trying to understand some of the quests. read most of the books i got and bought. Crafted stuff from all places i have been. bought most of the recipies. Did watch all the chats and stuff. so yea, 42 hrs is short for me. Spent some time AFK as well. but over all 42 hrs. Hell. Diabblo 2 took me over a 4 days to finish it for the first time. and there are no movies, not too many videos, no nothing...

StingingVelvet: It is a short game. and the end is not that great.

I've been playing for more than 40 hours and still haven't got past killing the Kayron. Somehow I don't think I ever will, despite so many saying its easy.
