This is clearly someone going from the Assassin's Creed style of combat, and inferring that it SHOULD be the same in TW2, due to the similarities in perspective and swordplay.

But of course, those are two different games. The conventions that exist in AC do not in TW2. Dodging is not a "switch" you throw that makes you immune to combat. Attack chains do not automatically resolve as successes. Enemies do NOT attack you one at a time in order to give you a chance to survive overwhelming odds.

CDPR took a chance by doing a combat system that did not treat the player as a privileged actor. The enemy does not go easy on you, and what applies to the enemies applies to you as well. That means you get staggered, they can block, and sometimes they can resist. And if you let them surround you, they will NOT wait their turn to attack.

This is harsher, more realistic combat. And I love it.

So true. I was genuinely happy when I got mauled by a pack of Nekkers, it's been a while since a game is rather unforgiving. You gotta think and prepare before you rush into battle :)
What's interesting is that he is up to around 2000 dislikes vs. about 140 likes. LOL! I guess TW2 has some fans.
He's just disabled comments *evil grin*
Priceless.
Hum actually he is right about some things the target system needs some work and sometimes when Geralt block or parry the fast style should be more effective in speed but aside for that he should really think and not rush it.

The gameplay in this game is more realist, Geralt has a leather armor and if he takes attacks from behind of course he would die more quickly, The Witcher 2 is not a button smasher but the gameplay isn't perfect either.

Few people seem to think the game is flawless as it stands.

But I gave up on this idiot when he started complaining that enemies where following him around instead of just waiting for him to come and kill them.

KenR7A: Another issue is he thinks there are "chains" in this game when there are not. He complains a lot about them "interrupting his chain". So far for me, there are no sword combo chains a-la Witcher 1.

You get in, attack once or twice, dodge out, cast sign, get in, hit once, parry, hit, dodge. You widdle the guys down bit by bit. Not take them out in one "chain".

bryg4rd11242010: Actually it seems there is a chain but I got those in chapter one when I was fighter nekkers.
The fast weapon with silver sword does speed up with a jump hit.
Interesting, I'll check it out. I've never been in a baddies face long enough to try a chain. I dance in and out of combat.

Yup I think he doesn't understand the concept of the combat, he is trying to play a different game. By the way I like the combat and play it on normal but maybe CDPR should do a "CoD mode" for people who don't want to think and I am not kidding.

Isn't 'easy mode' already that?

I think you overestimate CoD.

No, I think he was playing on that mode so it has to be a thing way more easy. Most of the mainstream gamers have no patience for this type of gameplay believe me.

I love the video after that when he says that the block doesn't work and keeps complying about that. Of course parry doesn't work Geralt has no vigor LOL

The targeting system is kinda broken, tbh. Other than that, he's a moron.
Lol, just like me when i was learning.
Reloaded 50 times at some point. Loved and hated it!. xD

But i do agree the auto-target suck ass, tho why he dosnt use LOCK-ON is beyond me. And sometimes the keys does have a way of not register a skill use.
Never had an issue with the auto target myself, infact its saved my arse much more than killed me. a quick glance at that nekker coming up behind and bam..reverse sword trust to its guts giving time to finish off the current target then roll and stab it again.
