jlibster: They probably had really high end systems with room to spare. guessing quad core CPU's and massive 2 GB video cards and 4-8 GB of RAM.

Simplex: Hardware power is Irrelevant here, as the pop-in is the same even on the highest settings.
The pop-ins I guess were not a big criteria for reviewers. I must confess I've never seen pop-ins dialogs mentioned in game review before..

Also, your remark of settings not being retained .Developers Probably took the safe road and reset everything upon installing the patch. Hardware detection is apparently incomplete or being tweaked (next patch?) as you have a fairly robust gaming system. That should have been set to high automatically in my opinion (maybe looking for 2 GB card for auto setting to high?) so I consider that an autoconfig bug (CDPR...are you getting this...?)

I dare say a lot of reviewers review mainy console games where pop in is normal and didn't think of it as an issue.
So I just tested version 1.0 and it has the same exact pop-in as version 1.1. I don't see it as any worse with 1.1, it was just bad to begin with.

As I said before, check your LOD settings, even on ultra this is set by the game to "normal" instead of "far" - another stupid CDP mistake.
Yep happens to me as well.

I went back to version 1.0 - now ive done a proper comparision I agree with the above poster.
the popup hasnt got better or worse in my system from 1.0 to 1.1. Its a problem on all versions 1.0 and 1.1

As mentioned above a bigger issue for me is the texture flicker on the grass and trees as well as aliasing on some walls etc. changing the anti aiasing settings in the launcher and nvidia control panel gave no improvement.

just spent 3 hours trying to solve the flickering grrrr...
Shadow pop-in is also irritating, for example in a cave with no light access there would be a light patch of rock, as if the light was shining on it, and when you got closer it suddenly disappears. I'll post some screens later.

I'll third this. Went back to 1.0 and pop-in is the same in 1.0 as 1.1 for me.

Only thing is, now after this thread - I actually notice it...argh.

Edit: For those that reverted to 1.0, are you having trouble patching back to 1.1?
Edit2: Nm, just had to remove mods/dlcs

seems like this is the reason our fps increase?

boozee: seems like this is the reason our fps increase?
No, because it is the same. The FPS increase was from removing DRM from the other versions.

So the texture flickering is introduced in the patch then or was it in the 1.0 version as well?

(can't test it myself... steam version)
I didnt have this problem with 1.0. But now I also got really bad pop-ins. And this is after I installed the new driver patch 11.5b and 1.1.

This one is with ultra preset, no extra tinkering. Can someone just tell me if this is normal or not?

Yes it is , everyone gets that.
This crap really annoys me , i can sacrifice a lot of eye candy in any game , so that i could set draw distance to max , hate popins.I am really disappointed that they didn't provide an option to increase it.

There is literally no change with any option at all though. That can't be normal.
