Thanks for sharing those impressions, they're quite helpful. As said I don't want to pick the "original language" just out of principle, a foreign dubbing doesn't have to be inferiour, like wormholewizards said.

Please don't hesitate to give some further input just because you didn't compare some voice-acting directly, sharing your view on the positive and negative sides is still most valuable. As long as you've sunk some hours into it and got a good overview, your opinion matters to me. The voice of someone who used language settings less common than English and Polish would be very welcome.

Searched for videos of the different languages in action, but those can't make up for some prolonged experience (unless you're willing to spend hours watching Youtube):
English
Polish
French
All of them seem to feature a better Geralt than the German one, the more raspy tone was something I missed.
agreed about the similarity between geralt's and tom gop.
I'm Polish and this being game made by Poles and based on a Polish novel, it is kind of obvious what I would prefer :)

However, I believe that the quality of the English VO is way above the Polish one.

Putting the actors aside, the technical side of the VO in English beats the "original" ones, they must have been recorded in a better studio or, if it was in the same one, on a preferable conjunction of spheres or something. The voices fit the environment and don't sound like they've been recorded in a big warehouse.

As for the actors, it is all relative and up to everyone's taste but for me almost everyone sounds better in English, with Geralt being an exception <- He's good in Polish VO's.

So yeah... I've downloaded the DLC, played part of the prologue in Polish and couldn't stand the contrast in quality. Finished the game in English twice already.

"Ever heard of doing it Witcher and Striga style?" :D
Do you think Troll speaks better in Polish than English?

I agree. Even though Polish is my native language I quickly switched to English VO and Polish subtitles. I find English VO more natural, betted played and just more "fitting".
I don't speak a word of Polish but have decided to use Polish voices because the Polish Geralt sounds more badass and the English Triss sounds completely out of place. Also I prefer to watch non English movies in their native language with subs rather than the dubbed versions and this is no different.

Simplex: Interesting factoid time :) Here is a mug of the guy who dubs Polish Letho:

I am Polish so obviously I play with Polish VO and I thing it is great (with some minor flaws). If I was not Polish, I would still play with Polish VO.
I don't know who looks more frightening, Lethro or Mr Zbrojewicz. :O
Yeah, Zbrojewicz's face is a definition of badassery ;) has face matches his voice :)
I know it is a Polish game but as I do not speak any Polish I chose English. Cannot use German (my native language) as I bought the UK version.
I usually watch movies in their original language be it Japanese,English, Mandarin or Cantonese with English subtitles.
Is it possible to play in Polish with English subtitles?
Played the first game in English and did not notice any different voice actors. Must be half deaf.
Did they alter any voice actors?
That combination is absolutely possible, in fact it's the setting I ended up using. With the DLC option removed from the launcher, obtaining the file could be an issue.

Those really turned out to be lovely voice-overs, my thanks to all of you recommending them. Travelling with Iorveth meant missing most of Dethmold, but neither Letho nor Saskia sounded out of place like some of you suggested. Could be attributed to not being familiar with the language (picked up a few words and curses though), ignorance might be bliss in this case?

English translation is quite good, sometimes a bit whacky (so much ploughing!), and only a few annoying bloopers (changing/modifying names?). Not sure which one to pick for an inevitable third run, the German one does a better job with names but has other noticeable translation errors (e.g. confusing evening with dusk).
