From watching the videos I was really looking forward to this guy but he turned out to be EXTREMELY easy. I'm playing on normal and it really only took 1 Yrden trap + a few strong attacks from my silver sword (Blood Blade at the time) to kill him :/ I never even got to see his tornado attack, the fight lasted literally 10 seconds. Is he considerably more difficult on hard? I'm planning on doing a second playthrough after I finish.
At that point in the game everything became extremely easy indeed i didn't die anymore , the prologue and chapter 1 are crazy hard , then with the armor upgrades and the new talents the game becomes a cake :I

Yeah, it seems to be that way for the most part (minus golems, those guys are still annoying). I picked up AoE Aard+upgraded bombs then went into Sword tree for the AoE/extra damage/damage reduction and it seems to be working out. Probably going to try a more magic-focused build for my 2nd playthrough (if that's even viable).
It definitely took a lot more than a few strong attacks on hard, id also suggest not watching videos of boss fights prior to encountering them, just in case the dude playing gave you some tips you would otherwise have to figure out on your own.

I'm just referring to the videos released by CDProjekt, it was a preview of the game they were showing off (from Gamescom I believe).

Doh :D

Yeah I got to see the tornado attack and all on hard, idk how it is on normal but it definitely wasnt a 10 second engagement on hard.
idk what you guys were doing but he just walked through my yrden traps maybe you guys upgraded yours but mine didnt stop him on normal not to mention all i ever got was just a ton of volleys by archers and trebuchets.
the fight is not that easy actually, it shows you have a good tactic and char development. good for you.

It did not take me much more than that on hard. Doged on of his charging attacks, used Yrden and spammed strong Attacks at his back. Literally took about 20 seconds.
I beat him in about 1 minute as well, on my first try. I guess I just had a good build? When pretty equal between magic and sword. Leaned a little more towards magic.

Hehe, just wait for the Operator in chapter 3. That'll be a tough fight
Hmmm...

I must suck really bad.
Instead of me beating him in 10 seconds he beats me in 10 seconds.
Over and over and over and over...
Why oh why do I have to keep replaying the part where I am still the ghost?

He walks right through yrden.
Spams me constantly with trebuchet.
Quen lasts one hit.
I've got the upgrade to footwork so I roll so far past him, and he runs so far past me, that I can't get back to him in time to damage him before he is swingin' on me then spamming me again with trebuchet. *sigh*

I've been like a knife through butter on everything else. Beat the standard bearer in like 10 seconds LOL but the Draug guy seems impossible to me.
I got the rest of the day and was going to finish the game but I have stopped playing out of frustration and dissappointment...gotta say a little disgust mixed in there as well.

Forget bombs and any other traps, just use quen and wait for him to charge, he usually ends up covering the whole of the battlefield and stops at the edges, that's when you can get 5 or so blows from behind or from the sides.

Blade oils helps quite a bit.. my quen was fully upgraded and that made things easier on me.
I was expecting him to hand me my ass. Instead he stood there and allowed me to beat on him. (Without being stunned.) He charged a few times, but has this animation where he looks to be pointing with his sword, issuing orders. I was nailing him with strong attacks when he did that and rolled away when the archers were called, once. No tornado attack, no fireballs.

This was on normal, but, really, it should have been harder. The balancing of the game is off at this point. Once aspect is the thing's health. I was surprised how few hits I needed to deliver.
The Draug just stood still waiting for me to attack at the start, so I just spammed him with irden.
Not sure if this is a bug.
when he orders trebuchet, he stops and raises his shield. go behind him and start attacking, eventually fireballs will come(you'll know when the ground lights up), that will cause splash damage on his shield and person.
