I swear with you all that I defeat Draug entirely by having my Quen sign active all the time. The level 2 Quen Sign transfers damage back to Draug.

It was done on normal level , not hard. I got beaten so many times under hard.

Anyone would think it is awesome feat
But even the nekkers around Flotsam were harder then the draug? :l
You just roll and hit him in the back, rinse and repeat. No need for the quen non-sense.
In fact, if you want any challenge in this game at all, play it on hard and forbid yourself from using Quen after the first chapter, otherwise it's just a boring cakewalk, even more so if you decide to put points in Signs and are forced to pick up lv2 Quen.
Different experience from me.

While I tried and retried many times on first playthrough, at the second I beated him in like 15 seconds, I was very surprised, he didn't even have time to call arrows or trebuchets.

Used Yrden (sp?) sign, got somehow lucky and trapped him all the times. 3-4 traps was enough to bring him down (normal difficulty).

This luck on sign is while specced fully swordmaster and a few +sign damage items, nothing out of the ordinary.

TRUE ! THE NECKER NEST ON THE RIGHT TO THE ENTRANCE TO FLOSAM (THE WAY WE FIRST ARRIVE FLOTSAM WAS THE HARDEST BATTLE FOR ME)

feeling weird that I have to run away. How the hell all the neckers just spam at the cave entrance !!!
face it... the hardest battle in the entire game is the 4 or 5 dudes around the ballista in the prologue.

i basically think cdp had the entire game planned out on a sheet of paper at the design phase, but when it came to the development, they had it upside down and made the game in reverse difficulty. just did the draug battle and it was bloody easy, yet the prologue and the start of chapter 1 were whupping my ass black and blue. dammit cdp, dont you guys know how to read a design document?! HARD STUFF GOES AT THE END, EASY STUFF AT THE BEGINNING!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is where I put on my troll necklace and say, "what you mean prologue. hard. prologue easiest part. get easier every time. bosses stink. you stink. give vodka."

But I am not gonna do that, because this is a perfect example of why the debate rolls on about any aspect of a game, including balance.

My experience is the reverse of yours. Three play throughs and the regular combat has become extremely easy, on hard, from the beginning. Wasn't easy the first time. I died lots. I have only marginally improved on the "boss" battles, which I totally failed on first run.

Which one of us is an idiot? Where is the design flaw?

Methinks it is rather subjective, and dependent on a huge amount of variables.

Eh, Quen sign reflects damage to Draug? I thought that doesn't work on large creatures?
Tbh i still consider some fights in the game hard or harder. Group fights against some types of enemies and other things... The dragon boss on hard is a pain if you dont abuse the bugs.

What i however have noticed is that people (first time they play the game) tend to use the wrong weapon (silver against humanoids)... They dont block, use spells or dodge.

My experience on this matter is everything very manageable except for Act I where swarm of enemies appear from nowhere and charge at you while you are still level 7 (nekkers and endregas).
Move back a few steps... Dont let them get around you... Remember that rolling around is your best friend.
