You need to run the stand-alone patcher. That "resets" the launcher so the launcher won't automatically try to resume the download. It also resets your configuration settings, so make sure to change them again if you needed to.

Had the same issue when I originally thought we had to download those files. So, you're not the only idiot. ;p

I've tried killing the launcher and running the patcher, it still autostarts the download everytime I open the launcher. I've just noticed a regedit in another post I'll try that.

I have this same issue but it is the ENGLISH VOICE OVERS withc is a 925meg file.. already downloaded it liek a bunch of times... there seams no way to stop this. If you cansel the launchers, with teh X button or task manager as soon as you load teh launcher again it will auto restart the download.

There is a folder on win7
C:\Users\ItIsMe\Documents\Witcher 2\Downloads

I have stopped the download at 920 and then copied teh file to another location.. so I can just copy it back again, to stop the 900+ meg leech each time.... but this basicly makes the game unplayable... as I can not launch the game with out the download trying to restart.

You can stop the download by going into regedit and removing the dir...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CD Projekt RED\The Witcher 2\Downloads

But this still dosn't stop the problem that the DLC is uninstallable.

English content should be working without installing anything. If that's all you need, then you shouldn't have to do anything to start playing.

(Just run the patcher exe in the install foulder and it stops it from continuously downloading.)

Well ive tried this out 3 times and it works every time for me,you have to close the launcher then go to the install foulder and run the patcher .exe.

Dammit! I'm really annoyed that there are no Polish voiceovers for the DLC. I'm currently on a business trip so I figuered buying the game in digital form off GOG instead of waiting to return to glorious fatherland. I thought, they would be available for free, as advertised. Rather than that I see English VO for English version of the game. What's the point?

Still, it's a mighty good game, I give you that. Thanks GOG :salute:
