It's a bit silly that after losing this sword in the prologue you magically get it back later. I understand the need to cater to those who want to keep all their loot from the first game, but why not make recovery of the sword as a little side mission instead?
agreed 100% easy to put in too
i sold off my Aerondight in Chapter 1 because of it's crappy stats.

here's hoping that that decision won't haunt me back in the later chapters.. :-S

lol :D
why don't you just drop the bloody sword from your inventory if you feel so strongly about it and leave it as it is for the rest of us?

Because he has a point there. The game even starts a quest, stating that you lost your silver sword during the siege (instant-completed if you imported a sword from TW1). Therefore, importing stuff isn't quite a bonus, but turns out to be impairing realism and immersion, not to mention "breaks" the quest for re-gaining an silver sword (which is very important for a Witcher).

I thought it was strange also, considering that 5 min. into Flotsam I found the diagram to forge my own silver Witcher sword. I did that by the way and its stats are comparable but less then the Aerondight's.
i think you start of with more than one silver sword if you imported one from TW1. so you only loose the regular one and keep the other.
My biggest complaint is how crappy the sword is. I mean, it's not every day that you get a magical silver sword from a godess.

Edit: I mean, compared to all the other silver swords you find in the game. Basically, it's the 2nd weakest in the game.
I'm not saying they should have given us the strongest silver sword in the game, but I feel they could have handled it differently.

It might be locked in the inventory until the prologue is past and the first silver sword is forged or perhaps, enhanced in its stats and locked in the inventory until level xxx required. (with zero weight until we can use too since we have no storage... *sighs*)

It's a good sword though. 3 rune slots. Didn't find any with 3, yet. Even if the base damage is lower than some I already found, the runes I placed make my Aerondight Da Killah!

This.

importing basically cuts off a quest's content.

It's possible it's also not intended you get the sword back, and it's just a bug. Also the sword quickly gets replaced anyways.

I found one in the chapter 2 which has 3 slots and is much better... Not telling where :P

I used FCR save and imported the Moonblade 14-22 dmg 24% bleed +5 signs (TW2 stats) And the Aerondight was only 11-18 5%bleed Wheres the 3 slots(not that far in Ch 1 yet)?

And anyone know about Foltest sword(steel)? I had the Ard'aenye(7-15).
