I'm gonna start by saying that I don't wanna make anyone mad or anything like that, I just would like to see what you guys think about usings mods, because when I see all those topics about mods, I start to wonder what is the point in doing it?For me it's just a way to destroy your gaming experience, like what is the fun to play a game where you have infinity health?Or infinity money?Or have all the skills/abilities since you start the game?
There is no challenge at all!!
I dont know I could stay here the whole day writing why I think mod is bad, so what do you guys think about it?
You realize that most mods are not cheat mods? Right? Check here: http://www.witchernexus.com/
most mods is to fix things people find annyoing, or a quest doesnt work so a small mod will help them complete it
There are fair amount of retexture mods, too. The OP needs to do a little research before attempting such a rather lame troll attempt.

What retexture mods do?...
Try the link I provided...............
I never use cheat mods - it does make the game boring. I like mods that fix things, or add something to the game. Rebalance mods, like combat and economy, are nice. If only because I felt they could have been implemented better in the vanilla game. I also like fan made adventures, and texture replacements or new swords/armor (so long as they're not god-items.)

I did, and there is mods for fixing things, but there some for stuff like lowering prices of items, make items weightless and stuff like that.....
I didn't say t hat were NO cheat mods. LOL! Just that there is more to modding than that. I never use the cheats, myself. Yet, I still have about ten mods installed at this point.

They change the visuals so the game looks better.

Check This Thread for a list of mods. Note there are a great number that aren't designed to 'cheat' the game.

*edit* As far as using mods go, who cares? Everyone gets enjoyment in their own way. I 'cheat' the game by using the no weight mod. Why? Not because I want to gain a huge advantage, but because I find it incredibly tedious to run back and forth to a merchant every time my inventory gets too heavy. Tedium isn't fun. This mod makes my game fun.

How can it be a cheat if your the only one playing it? .if it was an online competitive game yea its cheating...but using a mod for your own enjoyment the way you want to play it...its your perogative!! Challenging is highly subjective, I found(for myself) Easy was way too easy and normal was challenging enough for my first playthrough!! If I make everything uber the game is boring. SO beauty(gameplay) is in the eye of the beholder!!

not pointing this at you cbarbagallo, just making my point to the OP!!

I guess you don't realize that you can mod the game the other way?
What if you don't find the game especially challenging? Maybe you think combat is too easy, or upgrades are too cheap, or you are leveling up too fast, or or you are getting too many perks, or the number of enemy NPCs is too low, or that this or that weapon is over-powered, etc etc etc... you can change all of that with mods.

Mods come in many different varieties.. from the "I'd like this shirt to be green instead of blue" mod, to total game conversions (ex: Oblivion and Nehrim).

"Mods" are just that, modifications to any facet of the original game, not necessarily meant to make the game any easier.
In a nut-shell; mods make games that have a shelf-life of 20 - 30 hours have an indefinite shelf-life.

New quests, new lands, new dungeons, new castles, new abilities, new talents, new skills...that is one part of a much larger modding community at large. Why wouldn't you want that?

Cheats and small tweaks are a small part of a modding community. Unfortunately it's mostly all that can be done at the moment. Give it time and an SDK and the possibilities are limitless.
DarkOne for the win!

Listen to the wisdom of the grandmaster of mod(-host)ing.
