Let's face it, Steam is a bigger, more popular store that draws more traffic than GOG ever will. A lot of people like having games in one place and that place is usually Steam (having achievements is nice). The Witcher 2 ended up being the top selling game yesterday, surpassing even Portal 2 which was 10 euros cheaper. CDPR probably earned more from yesterday's sales than they ever would if the game was discounted on GOG.

They would have earned a little more with a sale here too. :)

Of course :) They will lower the price here without a doubt, but having it on Steam Summer Sales was a great move. On the first day, too, while people have money to spend :P It's still #1 top selling game... awesome.

Wondering how many copies Witcher 2 sold as of today. Really like to know if it breaks 1.5M records of original Witcher 1?

NIce if CDPR would share the success with its' fan :)

Make of that what you will.

And no, it's not feasible to discount a single game on a site.
The reason discounting on steam is a good idea is because there's a lot of other discounts flying about, which brings a lot more customers in the door.
Today's sale is long overdue!
