Not sure why we can't name the site in question, but GOG is still riding on the outlet of full sale at the moment. No doubt it will be discounted sometime by August, but I feel that the summer sale on GOG will be mainly restricted to the older games in order to draw incentive to shell out minute bits of money instead of a full retail product.

Don't know if there's a rule against it or not, but it seems bad form to advertise for a competitor, even if it is your own game.

Eh, games' publishers decide what steam prices are set at.
Make of that what you will.

And no, it's not feasible to discount a single game on a site.
The reason discounting on steam is a good idea is because there's a lot of other discounts flying about, which brings a lot more customers in the door.

34$ ?.. 13.49$ on Steam right now. Perhaps it's my region price.

But i think a good game deserve a good price. I preorder gog's Witcher 2 for 45 $ and I willing to buy enhanced edition if CDPR will make any.

I'm more interested in rebuying a physical version, myself.
Especially if they include more awesome junk .. dev commentaries (with subtitles) maybe?

I'm a little confused. All of the versions are the same after patch 1.2, so really the only reason to choose GOG over another place is to support the developer more.

But you're also asking to pay less, which means less money going to the developer, hence my confusion.

I would like to buy from gog to support drm free games, but the steam sale is tempting. I am not saying it isn't worth the full $50 but I prefer to pay less.
What are games "worth" anyway? If I wanted to hire a company to make one for me it would cost $10-100 million.

Perhaps no worth company left, when you finally decide to spend your $10-100 kk.
So i prefer to support developers who make games I like (such developers not much left already).

I don't mean to force anybody to pay more for Withcer 2, I only try to explain my reasons.

Certainly, it seems that the game's makers would keep more of the profit if they sell it themselves, rather than having to share with Valve.

Discounts always help sales, and it wouldn't be the only game on sale here.

Looks like that sale is over now, anyway.

Assuming that buying from GOG means that CDProjekt gets to keep all the profits from sales of Witcher 2, they get to keep all of whatever the sale price might be instead of having to share with Valve.

All of "less" is better than some of "less."
