right ill look to those blocks, but they are very small on my 1080p tv.

really wish the gui was scalable.
I think it´s a great thing that this game is hard! More games should be hard!
To get through this game you have to learn how to play it. This is not a hack and slash game. Use your heads!

I love this game!

Edit: This was not meant as an angry post. This was indeed a happy post! :)

Didn't even know you could dodge, glad I came to the forums :)

Seems the tutorial isn't really teaching all the stuff you need to know to succeed in combat. Also took quite a few deaths for me to figure out that the blocking is on the same cooldown as your spells.

Seems like there is a bit of input lag or is that just the normal control mechanics? (press to move/roll/block and character doesn't respond right away).
well haven't played yet. need to get home from work first and finish gog download, but from reading this topic seems i'll be prepared. hearing a few things i like

NO broken blocking system. hated how assassin creed, your like a god at blocking and can just hold it down forever.

like hearing how its difficult. i guarantee on your second playthrough and beyond you guys will be thinking prologue is not hard at all. i dislike games that start too damn easy and level with you. i mean whats the point of leveling if they do as well. should be insanely hard and as you get leveled up you slowly get to their level and then beyond

loving that there is no TUTORIAL in teh game. manuals are made for a reason, don't waste my game time telling me how to roll or block, ect.

kind of dissapointed in QTE, never been a fan of those.

i like how you can be stealthy and can bypass if you want

i hear that you should not loot in beginning. well if thats true, i'm screwed. no way can i pass up loot. its my achiles heel. i keep hearing about this dragon, hoping htere is no chest behind the dragon or i'll spend days trying to get it, lol.

wooglah: Does anyone knows how to survive dragon attack on the bridge, when Vernon falls and Geralt and King need to run? I'm pressing S key, and there was a message to press right mouse when something flashes on the screen, but I see nothing flashing, and clicking the right mouse does not help... That damn dragon always gets me after the first fire breath...
Use shield signs. The 2nd last from the bottom (forgot the name).

Remember you can change your level difficulty at any time, but don't change to insane if you're not very confident about your combat skill and decision wise when prompted to make certain decision during dialogs because you can't load any save game if you screwed anything.

After 8 hours or so I'm in Flotsam. I got to save two people. I think I'm taking a break. I enjoyed everything a lot. The fact it's pretty difficult is pretty nice. Didn't you people read what the description of 'normal' was?

It said a true and rich RPG experience. Say you didn't die once, you'd complain it being too easy. I actually like that you need to use your head for the game and not hack 'n slash your way through. Interesting tips as well. I think I died 4x on the dragon and another 4x in the garden. It isn't always easy but you'll get used to it.

My girlfriend came online and I had forgotten all about her. *ashamed* That's how addictive it is!
The Difficulty is refreshing, thats for sure. Easy lives up to its name... If you imported a Witcher 1 save, check your inventory you should have some better gear.

Stick with the friendlies, keep Quen on at all times and don't charge ahead too quickly. Wait until friendlies cross to the second covered corridor before doing it or the dragon will ignite your ass.

NO. not that part. where i carry Foltest over a bridge and the dragon chases us.
Now that I've got the hang of it, I withdraw my previous statement :)
edwarts If its the part where your carrying king Foltest, just run forward... and when it display a left or right click icon press it. The button press is for dodging the dragons fire breath.
Started a new game after testing things out for a bit, and managed to finish the prologue whilst only dying once on normal (the first time round, I died at least 20+ times). Goes to show that it's about player skill and tactics than just dumb luck :)

Oh, yeah that bit. I died loads of times there, far to many. As far as I can tell you're not even supposed to do anything, just run. I'm not even sure what I did right when I finally made it. Just keep trying, it'll work out eventually.

After the first QTE hold the down button (or S in my case) all the time, and sometimes adjust your position with left and right (A or D in my case) so you don't get stuck on walls. After 10m or so there is going to be another QTE so you need to press RMB and after that repeat the above mentioned process until the cutscene begins.

It's quite simple really, but unnecessarily hard and frustrating. Needed to repeat that section few times myself.
