I disabled this option and finally I can see! It was like I had really bad eyesight before where everything further than 5 meters would be blurry.

No idea why this is enabled by default. Looks a million times better without.

It suits the cut scenes well though.
I agree =) the first thing i did when i booted the game up was disable DoF and motion blur.

Those effects had a detrimental effect on the atmosphere for me and made combat rather nauseating.

But i guess at the end of the day,its all in the eye of the beholder. =)
I have that cranked to max and no problem with blur. Really looks good.

Most games look better with DOF and Bloom off. Those are the first two settings I go for in games. The game that DOF hurt the most I have seen was Borderlands. Turning it off was incredible.

As for blur, I think it just does a poor job of simulating real conditions so I shut it off for that reason.
It really comes down to personal preferance i think. Some people hate AA or Bloom and others love it. Same deal with DoF and motion blur.

I didnt like motion blur because i found it rather nauseating in fast paced combat and i didnt enjoy the subtle effect of DoF in gameplay,i like being able to see into far off distances clearly. To my eye,it felt like those effects where detrimental to the overall visual quality.

Love Bloom though^^ some people think its over done in this game..but i love the effect^^ Nice to have all the options either way though. =)

DOF = blur on anything outside the lens focal area.

I just think it's unrealistic having this in-game. As a character you should be able to look close and far with everything perfectly in focus, just like in real life.

On the other hand, having it with dialogue is better because the lens is focused on the characters speaking.

Eh... actually you can't focus your eye on both close and distant objects at the same time in real life. It's just pretty easy to switch between them.

Exactly, and the job of focusing on objects is done by the eye. If I'm looking at the screen and I want to focus on a tree that is in a corner and far away with DoF on I can't. To me it is better to disable DoF and do it myself *nods*
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but i don't see my question is worth to open a new thread. Here is my question:

What is the max FPS you can get from this game? Is it 60 fps max? Can it go higher than that? For example, setting monitor refresh rate above 60Hz.
All good points. I usually max out the DoF, but disable AA. I think it is a player preference thing though and everybody has what they like. With AA though, you do give up some performance with it enabled and cranked to the max.
this is like the only game that got bloom right imo :P I hate motion blur though. it isn't like I am driving a race car going 200 km/h when I turn.
Bloom is great, DoF and blur are nauseating. I turned them off right away. I don't need the computer doing what my eyes are perfectly capable of doing on their own.

That is correct but for you and me this is a seamless process. Wherever you look, it will be in focus. Unless of course you suffer from nearsightedness which would look exactly like in game DOF.

I've had mine go as high as 90. Just disable Vsync and if you have a good system see where it goes.
i find it impossible to play games without aa. i mean who prefers jaggies :(

other than console gamers i mean.
