I've been having problems today where all i can do is walk around. It usually happens right when I get into fights. The camera won't spin, I can't enter any menus. I can't swing my sword or use signs. All I can do is run. I think it might have something to do with the number 4 key and R. I had a throwing knife selected, but I must be out, cause it didn't do anything. Since I pressed that, all the controls stopped working. I've done it twice now and it happened both times. Even though I don't have any left it keeps it selected and it basically turns off all my controls. Anyone run across this bug besides me?

I have had this issue as well, particularly often in the first part in which you're passing through the mist in chapter 2. It's had nothing to do with pressing 4 for me though, as I don't have anything bound to it. Perhaps it has to do with trying to use an item you're out of which you happen to have bound to 4. I do use a lot of grapeshot and throwing daggers sometimes.

Come to think of it, it'd be really nice to have the amount of items you've got in your pockets displayed - another UI issue to add to the list. >_<

I had the same thing happen to me twice today. I am using a PS3 dual shock with the motion in joy software. It seems to only happen when I hit R1(Pocket button) for a bomb or knife. I have to use my keyboard arrow keys to exit out of the game.

It's definitely the bomb/knife controls that's causing my problem. I can recreate it on cue now. Once I got damaged, the controls came back.

I agree the ui in this game is a hot mess. The biggest culprit being the alchemy setup. Using quest items first? Havin to switch back every time after each one created? It's just mind boggling how all those beta testers listed in the credits were cool with that.

Yeah I made a post about this yesterday. It seems to be caused by spamming bombs and/or signs and rolls. Nobody seems to have a solution.

I have the same problem but witch keyboard, it stop randomly wokder, in few seconds it goes back (i just go to menu, alt+tab and go to windows and so), but i have same problems in Vergon in mines, it do all the time after restarting game and i am not able eve go out of mines .

I, and a few other players I know, have noticed that we're sometimes unable to block or use a Sign, even tho Geralt is standing still (i.e., not in the middle of another animation) and has plenty of Vigor. This has only been a temporary problem for me; I can generally block/Sign again once I roll or run way from the action and turn back to it. But something's clearly going on, and it's definitely tied to combat - because I can block on/off over and over and over with no problems whenever I'm not in combat. Maybe something to do with the targeting system? I have no idea, but it's very frustrating.

This and the lack of FOV configurability are my only significant issues with this great game, but the combat unresponsiveness in particular is a big one.

I'm not clear on whether this issue is related to what some other posters in this thread have identified. Any ideas?

Hmm. Some people are speculating it's due to a pocket slot being empty - can anyone confirm it *doesn't* happen if all your pocket slots are full? I'll try that tonight, but I'm in NA so "tonight" is still many hours off. ;)

I've had this problem occur when trying to use pocket items. BUT After I get hit and I'm able to move again, Geralt usually does use the pocket item, so the slot wasn't empty in my case.

It happens to me with some slots filled and some empty, so that doesn't seem to be a fix.

I dont know, it is not definitly fix, but when i have all the slots filled, it do me all the times and i was not able to play it at all.

I experience this most often when I am trying to throw bombs and dagger. After throwing a few (I probably have 20+ of those grapeshots so it's not pocket being empty problem), I lose keyboard control (probably at least spacebar, and 2 of WASD) is not working. So yeah...

It is same with me, i throw bombs very often, when i dont use pocket slot items (R key), it is good ..
