Let me ask a simple question. My mouse seems to be way off and pressing or cliccking results in a very noticible lag. Is this due to 'console' designs or due to other causes. I'm not the only one who has these issues and some said it was due to the dev's using a software mouse/keybord instead of the hardware.

Now if these issues are due to console design then that IS a big issue. If it is not due to console design decisions then can they fix it?

I doubt console players enjoy laggy controls more than we dd so it was likely a mistake.
If it gives CDPRED to make more games on PC, then I'm all for TW2 going to console. CDPRED has to make money in order to exist. That's the bottom line.

Let me be more specific. Take the arm wrestling QTE. The mouse is really laggy and I get the impression that this QTE was built for the gamepad where it most likely wouldn't be laggy.

Another is trying to cast a spell right after a left mouse click or a roll. I sometimes have to hit the Q button two three and four times before I cast the sign. I'm not sure if the is WAD or because of other issues.

I think the arm wrestling was done that way by design. Otherwise it would be childishly easy. It's pretty easy for me as is. I can only imagine increased difficulty on an analogue stick but I suck with those which is one good reason I use mouse/keyboard. Have you tried adjusting mouse sensitivity?

I don't know if the lag in taking action after a roll is by design to increase difficulty and tactics or an error. In either case I doubt consoles have anything to do with it. I've played a lot of console ports in my time and never had similar issues.

jklinders: No because that post was not addressed to me. The one you did address to me was the one I replied to. Where you suggested a slippery slope that CDPRED was sliding down. If you were trying to be facetious it didn't carry due to poe's law. Use emoticons or something so that the humour carries through. In any event I apologize for any misunderstanding on my part.
I see, no problem. :)

I've let the excessive vitriol in here get the better of me it seems. Well the patch is out now so maybe I should just do some Witching. ;)

I did adjust my mouse but then have to go back and adjust it back to where it was for the other parts of the game. What I ended up doing is keeping the mouse at the best setting for the game and turing off the difficult QTE option. It works for me but was a little disappointed in having to do it as I like the boxing QTE for some reason.

I would really like to see more and faster responses for the button smashes during fights. Hopefully 1.2 does something about it.

Thanks for the responses.
I am very happy to see Witcher 2 ported to consoles, even though I am and will always be a PC gamer foremost.

Just think about it. If Witcher 2 sells well on consoles, that means CDProjekt will get a bunch of money, and will be able to afford a bigger team for Witcher 3. Which means it won't take as long to be released as Witcher 1 and 2.
