thekingcasper: people who are console players will not understand the differences with ports and other problems PC gamers face..its not your fault its the companies who are making the games specially for the extremely outdated console that u play.. so to you nothing is different its all the same for you..

but when u put that console game on a computer thats using todays hardware all the problems are instantly seen..

theres a huge list of things..but thats the main one...

When the next gen consoles come out in 2 years than this problem will be alot different it wont be so bad... so until then we are basically screwed with only a small amount of developers even caring..thats why its such bad news this is happening..cause CDP was really the lead PC developer we had..now they turned to greed aswell..
I play exclusively on PC. It's not that bad, really. Having ambition is being greedy. Cripes. It's too early in the morning for this where is my coffee?

thekingcasper: this game sold over 400,000 units in its first week..they already made there profit now there selling out ...

Sad part is I was silly enough to think I had this guy calmed down last night.
Are they going console exclusive or anything? Plus, what's that about CDR being sold (on their website)?

they never said that. The port is exclusive to the 360. We already have the game. nothing is changed for us. Or so I thought...

jklinders: Or so I thought...
As if anything actually changed?

Only bad news I see now is that witcher 3 will arrive some months/year late. Other than that it's ok.
I'll wait till they announce new content / witcher 3 is coming first to consoles before I actually start calling them names...

Oh don't mind me. I'm a little depressed at the incessant whining that started here yesterday. I'm also uncaffinated which always makes me a morsel cranky. The "or so I thought" was a reference to others losing their minds over the port. Just look at my other posts in this thread alone and you'll see I'm with you.

CDPRED has kept their promise to the PC platform, all DLC is free for PC users and is in today's patch. All I'm seeing right now is a bunch of butthurt from the more elitist PC gamer element at having to share one of their toys.

thekingcasper: @tha dude who called me a brat..

get over ya self dude ya big fkin hero.. they made there money u not read well ?400,000 + sold in first week ALONE for this game..thats a success story anything more than that is just a given.. games HOPE they sell that amount.. u can go around sucking the companies **** if u want..but i know they definetly got profits from the sales so far..they did good..so any more pimping there product out to the consoles is just greed.

i was one of the guys telling everyone to buy this cd and support the pc exclusive community/drm free movement < i had tha shit up on a few websites... i wont be giving my high praise anymore cause history states every company that goes to console turns to shit. If history didnt show us this over n over than i wouldve give a fuck but sadly Good PC game and console just dont fit together. And unless they spend alllllllooottt of money making 2 seperate games than any new games from them will be a game built with lead purpose to run on a console..

argue all u like but u only have to be able to see all other developers who did it and know the chances are high < im not the one forcing bioware to sell there souls to cater to the useless console owners or forcing crytek to give up there entire fanbase to cater to consoles. dont blame me for history with the other developers.

i pray and hope witcher series isnt now ruined thanks to greed cause i love the story and the game. And so far was impressed with the PC version of this game but with ""History"" in mind the chances of this brilliant game series not being ruined because of the "Current" consoles are slim. We all know how much more expensive it is to build a PC game aswell as a console game.

Sad but true.
Talk about getting over oneself. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion. Having to complain endlessly about this subject in each thread just diminishes your impact.

The console market is huge. I fully expect CDP to attempt to gain a foothold in that market. They are entitled to their profit. I laugh when people talk about their profits as is they have a complete understanding of their costs (4 years of development, marketing, etc.).

As an additional point maintaining 2 different code bases one for console one for PC is expensive and introduces additional layers of complexity. Talk about chasing bugs down then.

I am a fan of CDP. I will trust them to continue to stay true to their declared vision of delivering complex, mature games for gamers. If they produce a game that I don't enjoy then I will adjust my viewpoint. Thats how I now view Bioware.

PS. I am a console gamer who found out about TW1 when on another games site. So I forsee that CDP will gain a lot of new fans that will check the game out when it hits the 360.

Peace

Your reply button broken or were you afraid I would take you apart piece by piece yet again if I knew you were talking to me?

I'm not the one spamming histrionic (look it it up if you have to) nonsense in every thread on this site yet you are telling me to get over myself? I call it like it is. The loudest complainers are coming off like spoiled brats who don't want to share their toys. There is nothing in your post that I have not addressed repeatedly already. Profit isn't a dirty word. Selfish entitlement on the other hand...

rivo101: Everyone has too stop crying about this, THEY ARE A COMPANY THAT NEEDS TO MAKE A PROFIT!!!!

Its the sane thing to do , besides more people will be able to play this great game, so pull your heads out of your own asses and move on with your lives.

MihaiHornet: CDP made a profit from the PC exclusive The Witcher, you know? TW2 sold 400k+ copies in first week so it surely looks like CDP will make a profit from it too.

TW and TW2 are such great games because CDP always puts quality first. Unlike EA that puts PROFIT!!! first and delivers DA2. Are you suggesting that CDP should lower the bar and do the same?

MihaiHornet: Then maybe CDP should lower the bar and deliver games that are more appealing to masses instead of sophisticated RPGs for whiny spoiled brats? Or even better, sell their souls to EA like BioWare did?

All in the name of paying bills and feeding mouths? Blah!
From whence does this sparkling leap in logic spring? CDPRED gave us what virtually everyone praised as a deep rich RPG experience while developing for both platforms. Now before TW 3 is even an idea in the thought of CDPRED we're talking about lowering the bar? Was there any hint prior to yesterday that CDPRED had sold out?

Most game houses sell out sooner or later. That happens after the passion for the trade dies off and you are just looking for a paycheck. I'll complain about it after it starts not before thank you very very much.

Whoa! I was merely saying that this kind of general arguments can be and are used to support just about anything, from DRM to crappy games and lousy sequels.

Please, read my post again and tell me where am I talking about TW3, where am I saying that CDP will lower the bar and were am I saying that CDP is selling out? Huh? Please do!

I read and understood it. I simply decided to trash your strawman argument as if it was legitimate. The big anti console port argument I am seeing is " they made a profit they don't need to port." Whoopie, what if they want more of a profit? Seriously given a choice between getting back $200 for your work or $400 are you going to tell me that you will pick $200? Profit is not a dirty word. This is not a slippery slope and until CDPRED actually does something to lose our faith I say they have earned it.

Besides the concept of a slippery slope is one of the bigger logical fallacies out there.

You read but you don't understand. Where do I say or imply that "they made a profit they don't need to port"

Have you read this post of mine?

How did you conclude that I am actually against TW2 on X360? You have to separate imagination from reality.

Using imaginary facts in arguments is another logical fallacy out there.

No because that post was not addressed to me. The one you did address to me was the one I replied to. Where you suggested a slippery slope that CDPRED was sliding down. If you were trying to be facetious it didn't carry due to poe's law. Use emoticons or something so that the humour carries through. In any event I apologize for any misunderstanding on my part.
