So Im only in the prelude chapter and ive run into a game stoping bug for me. So when Im doing the part where I open up the gate in To The Temple, after I use the gatehouse wheel and I am told to go talk to the King I cant move. The only keyboard command that works after I open the gate is ESC. Tried loading an earlier save and doing it again without success.

Dont know if its the same thing but I got rooted to the floor in a tent in chapter 2.

Only thing that worked was drawing my sword and rolling out of the spot (w+space)

Can you quicksave then load? or does the game load the locked session? Also, have you installed the patch?

yes on both counts, patched before i even started playing. saving then loading doesn't work.

1. Does you CTRL key work?
2. mouse look works?

CTRL no, mouse look is fine

I presume you've changed the keys in any way? or played with a key change and then applied the patch?
if not the case, then it's a contextual bug, which means you have to re-start the game.

can you change the keys, how? i certainly have not. i have restarted the game because of this MANY times

Same thing happened to me (nothing works but escape key, and that includes mouse look) - I didn't change keys, nor do I have any mods; it's some new bug introduced because in patch 1.1.

ahhh, sorry to hear that.
It didnt happen for me here, but I found out on other games that drivers can be the issues on cases like this (more or less the same).
So if you experience the same error in the same spot even if you restarted the game, it might be something wrong with your graphic drivers.
Up-date them and check for the hot fix as well (there's a hotfix given by ati and nvidia as well, especially for the withcer 2)
LE: never started with the new patch, so I am far from that point where you are now.. it might be that patch but you two should share the GPU you're having, could be a connection)

well its nice to know im not the only one lol, part of the reason im pulling hairs over this is that i thought i was. Guess i just got to put the game away until they patch it, this sucks man

Have you lowered your game settings/resolution?

Got stuck at one point as well (chapter 3).
No way to fix it I think, just have to load a older save.

I found that casting any signs (I'd usually pick Aard) broke me out of whatever bug was causing this and I could then move.

Could you still bring up the quick select wheel and move the camera around? If so, my solution should work as it helped me out a few times.
