I have problem with the last (?) part of the quest - 'Defeat Dethmold's men'.
I kill all soldiers, and their boss Adam Pangratt in the underground corridors.
Pangratt lies unconscious, HUD shows red dot on the ground, but i can't hit him.
Dethmold just waits outside bluish force-field and there is no way to get to him.
Tried this part 3 times with the same result.

Now im basically stuck in the underground chamber, surrounded by forcefield, with Dethmold waiting outside of it. Any idea what to do next?

did you experience problems similar to the one I described above?

I has a similar problem with this part of the quest and I think the cause of this is using the group finisher. Once I tried killing the soldiers without using it, the game advanced normally.

I just tried redoing it without using a group finisher, but i still had the same problem. Dethmold sits behind the shield, occasionally coming out and fighting, only to return behind the shield. Won't advance past that point, even though he's the only one left.

edit: Got past this point by loading a previous save at the beginning of the mine, and not using a finisher for the whole bit. That worked! Thanks.

I am at the exact same spot. Tried several times and different ways. I cannot get past that damn bluish force field either. So, i hope someone has an idea how to finish this quest. I kinda want to get out of here..... .^^

Bah, i should read the posts better. I retried without doing grouper style (use X), and it worked. Seems the game kinda bugs out/hangs when you use that style in this part of the game. Too bad, cause its mighty fun :D Havent seen any bugs like that earlier.

Anyway, besides that.. one hell of a beautiful game!

For all who might get this - the key is to not beat up dethmold too badly, otherwise he bugs out. Try to ignore him by just dodging his spells and leave him for last, at least that was the only thing that saved me.

this bug has been driving me crazy. don't use any group finishers eh? what a waste.. :-S

They mean don't use the group finisher (don't press x when adrenaline fills up).

I had the same bug, but not using the group finisher worked. Too bad if it doesn't for some.

Yeh I had this happen as well the answer is to leave dethmold til last.

If you attack him a few times so he teleports behind his forcefield it does not trigger his dialogue.

So kill the mercs and Adam then kill dethmold.

Handy to have quen up in this fight since he will blast you with spells constantly. Finishers are OK since they don't target Adam or Dethmold.

I did the whole mine part over again with out group finishers.. still dethmold bugged.. after that i did it again and not used group finishers or even used the stun thingie (that mobs get stunned and you kill them in one blow). After that dethmold worked and i got get along with the game.

Thank you guys for the advice you've put on this page. I was stuck on this fight too. Not attacking dethmold did it for me. I tried avoiding group kills but that didn't seem to solve the problem. So my guess is that attacking dethmold early on (which causes him to teleport etc) instead of saving him for last causes the bug.
