According to (czech original [url=http://www.eurogamer.cz/articles/tvurci-zaklinace-predstavi-novy-projekt]here), CD Projekt RED will present a new project at the upcoming E3.

In an interview CDPR's Tomasz Gop said that 'console gamers might be interested' and furthermore that it won't be TW3, as they 'haven't started work on The Witcher 3.' But 'it's possible in the future'.
But (and who wouldn't guess that first?) someone from CDPR later said that it won't be the console version of TW2, nor will it be a spin-off or expansion, but a brand-new project.

Thought I'd let you know. Thoughts? Any guesses on genre or even setting? Any further info you found?

Pretty much ever ysite is reporting this news with something different in it.
It would be nice to have some clarification from CD Projekt RED, at least on this forum.

Just to be clear: I'm not asking for exclusive anticipations, just to clarify what they actually told to the press.
Both Assassins's of Kings and Rise of the White Wolf with new Red Engine on consoles?

Most likely this
They already said, "that it won't be the console version of TW2, nor will it be a spin-off or expansion, but a brand-new project. "
Too bad they won't be working on an expansion after that damned cliffhanger.
as long as CDP does not go crytek route and make furture games on pc as an after thought, I will have no problem

They said two different things to two different people (Czech Eurogamer and Brit Eurogamer). But they're still talking about the same thing. So we can't be certain.

Ah, well said.

TBH, Crytek had it coming. They made a mediocre game that required heavy hardware, and blamed lack of sales on piracy.

great news, it's not like they just released a bug ridden game that hasn't been fixed yet or anything.

sorry dude...play crysis again......its the best fps game in recent times. and crysis highest settings required heavy hardware. Low and Mid settings were optimized.

But back on topic. TW2 has passion ozing out of it in every frame. CDP did work hard on maps and story. Hope they maintain their standards

I did. It was too horrible to bear, and I had to stop halfway through the game. If there was ever an overhyped, pointless game, this was it.

Crysis 2 is far better.

I enjoyed Warhead a lot more. It tended to have more open areas where you could fight Predator style. But Crysis 2 was also pretty good. Crysis 1, I'd struggle to find the motive to play again.

Aye, warhead was better. It had more drive to it. It's not as boring as the first, at least.
Well, my primary concern with this - if it actually is no Witcher-related project - is that either there will not be an expansion (although they already said that they 'could imagine' making one) or even TW3 for a very long time as the majority of developers will be engaged with the new project or CDPR massively stocks up manpower which could lead to a more 'company-like' structure and a loss of personal relation and passion toward the projects.
Pure speculation though, as neither of these options HAS TO lead to the consequences I pictured.
But then again, I'd prefer waiting 5, 6 or 7 years for a great, inspired TW3 to year-by-year releases of mediocre quality... which is an entirely different matter for itself. ;)
