Right I need to go into the mines and without being able to see I find this very very hard.

Is there anyway I can get my hands on a cat potion recipe? I don't have it and I don't have any of the potions either. Seems quite strange that such a recipe does not exist anywhere in chapter 2 no matter how much I have searched.

A bit related to that anyone have any idea if I can go back through the mist to Aedirn before I find the three items. I went with Roche and the only merchant in town sells food no potions so wanted to go back to town see if I can find a recipe / or a potion without having to replay the rest of the game.

The formula for brewing Cat potion is known from the start of the game, I fear you may have accidentally sold it.

According to the item db site (http://www.chalonverse.com/tw2db/item.php?id=5057) the formula isn't sold anywhere.

You can find and use the Flare bombs (I really like the mines a lot more with flares instead of cat potion). They have even been buffed in 1.2 patch to 2min duration, more than enough to clear the rotfiends around.

There is also a mod that let you buy the basic formulae (http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/full_list_of_mods/post141), but unfortunately it adds them only to a merchant in chapter 1. But the file in the mod shouldn't be too hard to modify to add it to a chapter 2 merchant.

After patch 1.2 i think Myron in chapter 2 sells all the base formulas (including Cat)

edit: Anezka and Cori sell them too btw

Thanks a lot for the answer but where the heck do I get the flares? I have gone through the Mist already and there is no merchant on the other side and can't seem to be able to go back through the Mist to Aedirn. Though the Cat potion is good for seeing in the dark, I hate the "thump" noise, so I just turn up the gamma and brightness for that area in Options. Light the torches as you go down corridors, so you know where you have been. Use your map to keep yourself organized.

Easily done without Cat Potion.

Surely you mean how to get back to the camp if you are on Roche's path. Yes you can't return unless you are done collecting the quest items. And yes, there is no merchant on the other side (well there is Spark who sells junk and buys everything but she doesn't help).

I guess the easy way is to tune your brightness and gamma as the previous poster suggested.
