Has CD Projeckt come out and said anything about it?

Are the servers just down or is it possible to activate it right now?

I tried registering Witcher 1 from GoG about 4-5 days ago and had the EXACT same issue fyi

If you bought TW1 from GOG, you don't need to register it, so you're good there. I just want to know if I'm wasting my time right now pushing the send button.

what, do you expect them to?

cdp has pretty much gone underground for the past 2 weeks... i mean hell, theyve even turned the official witcher forums off so that they dont have to answer questions...

i think theyre just waiting till everything blows over so they dont have to deal with fans asking questions :( its the digital equivilent of shoving their fingers in their ears and going 'lalalalala we cant hear you' :D

I know you don't need to, but I tried creating an account on the main website anyway since I figured I'd be registering #2, but it wouldn't work.

Ah, Okay, yeah, I had TW1 from the retail and recently bought the GOG and transferred my save, and also wasn't able to register TW1, but that's what I was told, didn't need to. I'd just like to be able to register TW2 to get the patches.

I understand they've been busy, Its just first impressions for new potential fans are critical. If they did acknowledge officially that the servers are down, i would at least tell me they are actively working on it. Its only going to get worse throughout the day as the US wakes up in Central, then Mountain, then Pacific. Back to mashing Send.............

its not just reactions from new fans.. ive been around since the first game, and my respect for the company is taking a bit of a dive here.

i dont mind PROBLEMS... they HAPPEN and i understand that. but when the company wont even show their face to explain the whats and the whys - shut down their forums and ignore gamers - their customers - thats when my respect drops.

and how developers behave and treat their customers actually matters to me as much as the quality of the game does... is that weird or wrong?

Nope, Not wrong at all. Its why Bioware went from a pre purchase comapny to a buy used way after release company. They lost their focus on gamers IMO.

Well still mashing Send here on the chance it takes it.
