Then I have no way to explain it. Brought the box home at 10am this morning, installed it all, jammed in the reg key and downloaded a 27(?) meg update + the DLC. Went to play and nada. On the plus side, I didn't get a chipped bust :3

Azjurai: Fully patched and updated. Really doesn't help the game didn't want to work with the G35 headsets either >.< All in all, not turning out to be the witchery day I planned when I nabbed the box this morning :p

Just ignore them. They are just jealous. Retail version has been active for a few hours now.

I'd contact support if you haven't already: http://en.thewitcher.com/support/.

Check the Support FAQ first. Reinstall latest graphic drivers, check other games are ok too.

Nope, all retail version have been able to play the game for the last 7 hours, since all of those were eligible to be activated since 12:01 am GMT, read the FAQ on the official website.

The utter lack of reading comprehension is just wow. All retail (physical) versions have been unlocked for hours now. The FAQ on the official site makes it very, very, very, very clear.

The only ones who are still waiting are the digital versions.

Gah! A little under 2 hours left!

Nope a friend purchased a retail here in Oz at 9.30am and has been unable to play.

Unlikely it's the DVDs (is there more than one?). It wouldn't install if it was bad. See what support say. It certainly looks like a driver issue.

Two game dvds + two bonus dvds. Really hope it's not a driver issue, would hate to waste my days off not playing :p

Except that the reality is different.

I don't care what the official FAQ says... that also says that the digital version is going to be 2 hours later than it will be.

The fact is that multiple people from gamestop have purchased the physical copy and can't activate it yet.

The game has been available for the last 5 hours in Australia...

EB Games opend at 9am (presumably) and my friend is telling me (via Trillian) that where she is it's 14.00... she sent a photo of Collector's Edition sitting on her desk.

So, that sounds like GMT+8 to me, which means it would have been available even earlier in Australian Eastern States and New Zealand...

Given that, it is no unusual to see people actually playing the game now...

I've got exactly the same problem (i.e. it looks like this: http://i54.tinypic.com/kqcgj.jpg).

I've not been able to try it using all the different graphics settings (only had about 30 minutes before work to quickly check it out).

2x ATI 6950 in Crossfire graphics, Phenom II x6 processor, 8GB RAM, Windows 7.
